One of the india's biggest port under action-covered by National geographic channel under Mega structures tag

A bit small don't you think? I mean for handling cargo for 1.4 billion people??? That's like 1/5 of the world's population.

This port itself more than 4 times bigger than Karachi port.India also have 12 major ports in more than 7500 kms of coastline.

India also have 200 notified minor and intermediate ports

wtf so now to liberalize is to become modern this is bull sh it.
god sake root of all problem is usury and printing money out of thin air.

Gambling god sake we have this problem here in UK where men sell their women yes Pakistanis men too. It is the worst curse ever i have a member of family who is gambler. i wish gambling places are burnt to the ground and the owners shot and raped. It has ruined so many families, homes lost, children with mental issues, wives become immoral looking for a way out.

Not impressed. Don't forgot Pakistan is puny compared to India which is nearly 7 times more populous. Just one of your state like Utter Pradesh has same population as Pakistan.

The port has the capacity to handle 3.1m TEUs a year and have a storage yard to accommodate 550,000 TEUs a year, sources said. And this is just the expanded deep sea port.

Mundra new terminal is 1.3 m TEU's.

Even though India is almost 6.5 times population of pakistan, but almost 12.5 times handling cargo vs pakistan
and the gap is widening every year.

India is also exporting software services, which does not need a port like infrastructure.IT exports itself standing at 111 billion dollar.

The truncated Uttar Pradesh or the earlier one which included Uttarakhand?

And while talking of Pakistan's population, do you include Azad Kashmir?

And is there any way to ascertain if UP's population is indeed bigger than that of Pakistan's?

Mundra Port crossed 100 MMT mark by handling 101.12 MMT cargo in FY14.This figure is 4 year old.
Now you can compare with Karachi !

Adani is developing and operating mines in India, Indonesia and Australia as well as importing and trading coal from many other countries. Currently, they are one of the largest coal importers in India. They also have extensive interests in oil and gas exploration. Extractive capacity is scheduled to 200 MMT per annum by 2020

India’s retail market is expected to reach US$ 1.1-1.2 trillion by 2020, showing such an increase will also contribute to the growing infrastructural need of ports.

India is expected to become the world's third-largest consumer economy, reaching US$ 400 billion in consumption by 2025 according to a study by Boston Consulting Group.

Not impressed. Don't forgot Pakistan is puny compared to India which is nearly 7 times more populous. Just one of your state like Utter Pradesh has same population as Pakistan.

Moreover India is one of the largest gold consuming countries in the world and also exports 75 per cent of the world’s polished diamonds.India exported US$ 21.71 billion worth of cut and polished diamonds just between April 2017-February 2018.So these are very high valued goods taking less cargo space vs clothes, fruits etc.

India’s gold jewellery demand is estimated at 573.3 tonnes in 2018, up 14 per cent from 2017. China is expected to see a 3 per cent rise at 646.9 tonnes.

Though i am not sure such a high valued goods are handled by Sea cargo !

so i have was thinking that the government of pakistan should turn gawadar into a liberal city.
what do i mean by this?:

1.have a defined boundary for gawadar
2.have its own laws
- complete freedom of speech
- alcohol is legal
- gambling is legal
-complete freedom of religion
- have its own special police force
- completely independent of balochistan
3. pakistanis from rest of pakistan would have to get special permission to work and live there.
4. the whole citys prices of goods and wages should be completely different from pakistan
- pick any european country ( follow its wages and prices for goods)
- if a bottle of pepsi costs a dollar then in gawadar it should be 100 rupees
- if minimum wage is 8 dollars an hour then in gawadar we should make it 800 rupees an hr
- and so on.
basically gawadar will become the hong kong of of pakistan.

what do you guys think?

Not going to happen

COPHC plans to eventually expand the port's capacity to up to 400 million tons of cargo per year. Long terms plans for Gwadar Port require a total of 100 berths to be developed. It will be much bigger(4 times) than Mundra port.

http://dlca.logcluster.org/display/...t;jsessionid=1CA81F97D5590BF73F96FB622D905DFC

Do you really think that one port Gwadar can handle almost 3/4th of combined cargo of 12 major ports that India is handled now ?

I still don't know which world you people are living ! Stop dreaming...humble request

Please let me know how many cargo handled by Gwadar now in MMT? How many containers handled?
