The island is not going anywhere. As long as China stays put and growing, there should be no problem. One day Taiwan people will scream to reunite, and there is no need for war or anything. However, the key is that we must be STRONGER than the United States. The enemy is the United States and its puppets, not Taiwan. The U.S is heading to a down fall sooner than anyone expected. No worries. Panic is the thing that western countries want to see from us. The PAC3 is nothing. We have more than enough weapon to counter it. It can't intercept our mass artillery.

My conclusion:
*US is maintaining its global influence/interest.
*Creating blockade on China (military and global strategy)
*Testing China's bottom line, due to its recent change in political attitude.
*US will interfere other nations internal affairs, as long as it benefits them.
(what is the affairs about, isn't important, its their interest, that's important)
*US the ultimate expansionist, will continue to trigger/undermining war possibilities for other nations.
(if you do not agree on this then man you are really ignorant.)
*The US have no moral baseline, as long as its profits from it, the ultimate capitalistic behavior. (look in middle east, and see what are they doing)

Well, the U.S runs its spy plane through our skies, incites riots in our cities, sails its warship across the Taiwan Straits, aiming countless missiles at our cities, arming our neighbors with tons of dangerous weapons, constantly making war plans to attack us. Wait I haven't mentioned that it threatens our sovereignty by selling weapons to Taiwan!.... No it is not doing anything to China (or you sir, are nothing more than a banana retard)

Are people anxious that China is actually able to defend itself? Wow surprise! The old colonials days are long gone.

Run the world? I think the U.S is already doing that and killing millions in Iraq and Afghanistan. China simply stands up to its imperialistic expansion.

You don't have to be anxious. We don't invade other nations and pillage their resources. We will simply defend ourselfs against such aggression. The U.S is the aggressor.

no artillery can fire all the way from China to Taiwan. If you mean rockets and ballistic/cruise missiles, yes China has more than enough to offset the balance.

The fight is not going to be fair because Taiwan weapon systems are limited in how far they can strike into china. US do not sell truely offensive weapons like F-15 for example.

No. Everyone is getting anxious about how china is so hostile to every country in the world. A good example is how all the Chinese members of the forum say "the U.S is our enemy" just because the U.S has a stronger economy. It's obvious china wants to be the biggest and strongest country in the world, and they see building up there military as a good way to do that.

US wants nothing from China?
Its not that they want China, they are losing influence. And they need that kind of influence/control to hassle the world. Building base around the globe for instance. Its all about maintaining their interest/position in Asia. by say US wants nothing from China does not change the fact that US see/foresee China as one of their enemies.

If they are that peaceful... why are they surrounding China way before China rises.

There never have been peace between nations. By saying US wants peace is just silly. What is US doing in middle east? what does middle east has to do with US? And don't tell me cuz terrorists attacked them, because they are the one triggers it.

No Nation cares about peace, as long as they can afford it and gain something out of it, they will do it. And stop being ignorant. Talking about peace in here. Peace always comes in after war, and there is always a time limit to it.
