They are firing on compounds belonging to criminals.....you can see them covered in smoke at the end.

I don't think they are shooting to hit anything. Looks more like harassing them into surrender. There is crucial info to be obtained from criminals. Some influential people were supporting them.

The Pakistan army has extensive experience in urban warfare so, I'm sure its part of their operation.
Also, the 7.62 FN MAG has a maximum range of around 1 km or nearly twice that when mounted on the helicopter as seen. They are flying at an altitude of around 1 km so the bullets would definitely be lethal if hit.

I think it is the initial phase to pacify them by peppering with bullets. The message is that "we are here" and "the game has changed"........if they don't surrender then the next phase ........

Aye, its most likely covering fire for advancing soldiers. The terrain isnt really urban; its a large patch of land surrounded by water and perfect for natural cover. Very hard to get men ahead and at the same time spot the enemy.

Police couldnt do anything.
They charged in with lots of men and got captured. lol

besides, theres someone big probably supporting them. I'm sure the army would be interested in what it is.

I see libdos in twitter fuming that why the "Mighty" army couldn't still finish the chotu gang and they are delaying it on purpose for defaming the government.
Thing is police were sent to Kacha area with Kalashnikovs and only 150 bullets per سپاہی.
Not much communication equipment and no coordination or planning. On the other hand Chotu gang has RPGs, G3,M16,LMG,and such high power rifles. They killed police before they came within firing range of Kalashnikovs,and took 24 hostages.
Unless people want all 24 hostages to die,adding insult to the injury, shouldn't pass such comments.
Army wants the hostages to be released and gang members arrested not dead,as they are not suicide bombers.
If army wants to kill them,they got enough fire power to do so,but what's the point?
