Army’s refusal to share LoC casualty stats irks Rabbani

Minister of State for Power Abid Sher Ali, in response to a calling attention notice, gave a brief statement in the Senate on Tuesday about the situation along the LoC.

Speaking on behalf of Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Ali provided civilian casualties only, saying: “Pakistan Army wants to withhold the information about the losses suffered by its troops due to security reasons’.

“We have written to the GHQ for the details of our soldiers who have lost their lives serving along the LoC. However, the military authorities refused to share the details citing security concerns,” the state minister said.

This is the attitude I am talking about... Think practically.. Which is feasible? India Pakistan both agreeing the present LOC as border and settling the issue once and for all or India giving Kashmir to Pakistan? Do you really think any govt of India in future will dare to do That?

You and I are sitting in AC rooms and beating the trumpets of war while poor soldiers(many of whom are from poor backgrounds and whose families live. thousands of Kms away ) are getting killed every year... Human life is so precious.. We will not achieve anything from this bloodshed... No matter how many more soldiers die on either side, the present borders won't change.. Hopefully people on pak side realise this and put pressure on their govt thereby putting a full stop to this entire insanity.

I am pained Everytime I hear news of soldiers being killed on both sides... Pakistan should give up it's claim on Kashmir if there has to be any peace on the border..it is because of Pakistan's adamant nature ,some hundreds of Innocents are being killed on either side.

Please advise India to give up illegal occupation of Kashmir, and hundreds of civilian lives will be saved. India and Indians need attitude change, illegal occupation, disputed as per UN as well, Kashmiri's do not accept indian occupation even after 70 years of approx 700K soldiers killed thousands of innocent Civilians, but achieved nothing.

Its time for India to give up Kashmir claim, and stop killing innocent unarmed civilians.

3 Army personnel among 6 injured in mine blast along LoC

Three Army personnel were among six people injured this evening in a mine explosion along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, an official said. An Army team was engaged in a security clearance operation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Sundarban Sector when a mine exploded, a senior Army officer told PTI. In the blast, three army personnel and as many porters were injured.

They were hospitalised, he said.
