Gulf's financial wealth could be over in 15 years: IMF

I have been hearing about this for years but nothing seems to have changed yet. I hope this happens in my lifetime so I can see the badmaashi of these useless impotent Sheikhs, who have otherwise no ability whatsoever, come to an end.
Why do you hate them yar. They employ you. Imagine if we in Pakistan are rich.
And we employ other people our behaviour would just be the same.
That's how it is in eurpeon countries except they guise it under human rights and secularism.
It's everywhere.
Don't singular them out.

Because ppl think GCC owe them something...as if a Muslim having wealth should de facto "give" it all or more than it should...
But those same ppl...when they see a beggar... will either turn a blind eye or say "go work"... or when They have to pay for Zakat/Charity... they behave as if they are giving their entire wealth...

This is not a 'running out of oil' scenario. I was shocked to discover that most major car manufacturers have set a date beyond which they will no longer produce petrol/diesel cars. Not much of a demand for oil, then.

And on another note, in 15 years these countries will be part of Greater Israel anyway.

I have been reading about such predictions on pdf from past one decade... let's talk back in 15 years... i say prediction is wrong.
Only risks are Iranian terrorism in region and money laundering lead by Pakistani politicians.
Even if we trust for a moment the wishful majority at pdf. Saudis would come for the bailout of UAE.

What you've (and everyone else, including myself) been hearing is that they'll lose their wealth by the middle of the century, so sometime around 2050.

If the Arab governments are smart, they'll invest in other industries. I know that the Saudis have been trying for decades now, and have only gotten serious under Muhammad Bin Salman.

The Norwegians took their money and put it in the stock market. It may not be doing so well at the moment but overall they earn a healthy annual return on investment.

While the Gulf Arab do some of the same, they should also invest in the developing worlds industries, which hedges against political instability against them.

If the GCC countries invest in developing the agricultural industries in countries around them, they will stabilize the food supply and open up options to supply countries like China with a rapidly growing demand.

For example, If they invest in Pakistani farms and dams, they ensure they have stable food supplies just a days sailing from their major ports. Their young trained workforce also gets to work in countries like Pakistan, at the managerial level and can develop new products they can export.

For example, harvesting new scents in bio diverse regions, like French scientists do, can open up Saudi ventures in to the luxury perfume market. In the Congo there is a strain of marijuana that suppresses appetite; and can be used in weight loss. (The was a whole documentary on this)

The Saudis should invest in developing other countries like the multinationals do, and diversify their economy that way.

I think you don't know Saudi Arabia very well.... diversification of their industry is much older than MBS.
Sure MBS is multiplying the fortunes, as well diversifying the suppliers, but may you name one industry which Saudis didn't had in past, except elaborate defense industry, which as well is coming now.
Even the private industry owned by citizens of Saudi is enormous. You will be shocked to know, how many industrial zones are in each province. As well their are humongous industrial cities... means heavy industry zone and residential zones side by side.

Read my comment again, I said they've been trying for decades, which is why they have SOME industry, but they never got serious until under MBS.

KAEC is a major example of their lack of seriousness.

Well i will not debate to convince you or inform you... but will state here how i described Saudi Arabia when i first landed there... ''min USA'' in some industry size they are at par with world industrial giants like USA.

They are not, and there is no evidence to prove you right.

I've looked into it, just to see if I'm wrong.

By the way, if you're gonna play the "I've been there, so I know" card, I've also been to KSA quite a few times, so I know how it is as well. Having said that, being there shouldn't really change anything. Facts remain facts, and all that.
