I did not make any story. Steady diet of lies and deceits? I was brought up in UK you plum so have not been exposed to Pakistan education system. Indeed I struggle to speak Urdu (although I can get the gist of what is being said) and I cannot read Urdu whatsoever. So shove that suggestion you made up you know where.
Back to the topic in hand. It still hands notwithstanding the lame attempt by Dawn to soft soak this subject - check out where it is published from and it's primary management/market. Let's look at this WSJ article.
“These are two big economies right next to each other. The money must be flowing,” Mr. Ratha said. “That number we put out could even be an underestimation.”
The Dawn article that you posted is desperately trying to cover this up. Okay let's go forward with the suggestion that Dawn makes. It days the figures are based on estimated of Indian origin demography from 1947 in a blatent and cheap attempt to cover this up. Okay lets move forward with this theory. If the $4.9 billion is WB estimate of India orgin migrants from 1947 then how about the darned Pakistan origin migrants who moved to India in 1947? Would the WB model not churn ot similar figure to balance that out?
What they don't tell you is huge number of Indians moved to Pakistan post 1980 and most of these are the behind the huge remittances to India. Not the now historical 70 year frayed connections.
