GILGIT:

A group calling itself the ‘Afghan Mujahideen’ has threatened to bomb a private school in the Ghizer Valley of Gilgit-Baltistan if its administrators fail to ensure that the women teachers working their observe ‘Islamic dress code’.

The Oxford Public School – located in Hatun village, nearly eight kilometres Ghizer Valley’s main town of Gahkuch – received the handwritten threat on Friday.

“You are being warned. The school will be bombed if female teachers don’t observe ‘pardah’ from now on,” read the letter addressing the school’s headmaster. “This is the [first and] last warning.”

Terror threat alert issued in Hyderabad

Sources told The Express Tribune that unidentified men broke into the school late Thursday night, vandalising furniture and other equipment. They also left this letter behind which was found by police on Friday.

The incident was the latest in a series of strange developments in Hatun village over the past couple of months, according to residents.

“First a SAP school was torched by unidentified men. Then a wall-chalking favouring a proscribed outfit appeared,” said Hatun resident Yaqub Khan. He said such incidents had created panic among the people of this small village where the crime rate had until now been zero.

Following these incidents, police and army mounted search operations in the town to trace the culprits. Police Superintendent Abdul Qayyum said they had registered cases and would apprehend the ‘terrorists’ behind the incidents soon.

Terror threat: Security alert for Pindi’s district courts

G-B government spokesman Faizullah Faraq said intensive investigations were underway to unmask the elements involved in these incidents. “These incidents are being investigated by all agencies,” Faraq told The Express Tribune on Saturday. He said it was too premature to speculate, but whoever was involved in these incidents would not be spared.

Faraq highlighted Ghizer Valley’s strategic importance and said that this district straddles Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor in the north-west and China in the north. Ghizer borders Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Chitral district in the west while Diamer is located in the south.

Deport all of the illegal Afghans and their terrorist mind set. If they resist that take them down.

Shove a bomb deep up their bums and let it rip. It will send a strong message to their backers.

Another attempt to destroy the infrastructure of education. These lunatics have deep rooted hatred for Islam and Islams importance of education. They call themselves Afghan and roam freely in GB a province of Pak. Well done Nawaz for not really clamping down on illegal afghans.

more like indian hired afghan mujahideen targeting Gilgit Baltistan. people in GB should start throwing all afghans out of their region. This is nothing more than the terror tactic being used by india to highlight GB on international arena as a territory under threat to disrupt attention from indian occupied kashmir.

Why people in Pakistan don't want to live under sharia?? Pakistan was created for Muslims and where this resistance is coming from??
People wanted sharia over corrupt democracy but what the militants openly claim to be sharia is a lie. Militants want to promote the mass killing of people! Under sharia it is forbidden to destroy any educational/ religious institution. These fake 'mujahideen' are openly going agaisnt Sharia. Threatening to attack a school and kill innocent people? What 'sharia' is this?

These bastards need to be apprehended as soon as possible, All the afghans should be expelled back to their hell hole, cant allow foreigners to disrupt piece with their barbaric and backwards ideology.

They want teachers to follow Islamic dress code so that children learn from it..what's wrong with it? I think their demand is legitimate..

Because the Islam they want to implement is Afghan Islam and we don't agree to it.

In Afghan Islam you can also do bacha bazi while in Islam that we follow it is haram to do anything like that.

So you can implement Afghan Islam in India if you want to. We founded Pakistan to implement Islam not Afghan version of Islam.

Afghani are the poison of this country, we should immediately be sent those back to Afghanistan those are not listed in our NADRA Refugee list. I hope, our Pak army has found them and killed those so-called MF Afghan Mujahideen, they should know that this not Afghanistan, it's Pakistan MFS!!!! :crazy_pilot::pakistan:
