Govt to wind up CPEC authority

CPEC authority ordinance ran out a long time ago, it's a pointless organisation made to monopolise control of the CPEC portfolio. CPEC ran fine before it, and will be fine after it's dead (which it already was).

Try explaining that to polarised PTI shills openly defaming the institution and chanting slogans. Pathetic state of affairs.

As far as I know the CPEC authority was created long after the formation of CPEC. Initially CPEC was focusing on projects that were already on the pipeline of Government of Pakistan or needed at emergency basis such as coal powered electricity projects. Some of the projects were partially funded through the PSDP and awarded to mostly Chinese companies as most of the funding was coming from China. The FWO has done marvellous job in some of the CPEC related road projects and the CPEC authority was created to overlook existing projects and to push China for more funding. It did not have any purpose other than having a dedicated board to manage CPEC but it looks like it’s not serving any purpose so far since the funding on CPEC projects seems to have slowed down anyway

I suspect American installed government will be destroying CPEC and non payments to Chinese power producers is a key step in doing this.

Give it a few months and we will see nuclear programme rolled back and Americans aid program restarted.

Already Bajwa is talking about reducing armed forces as well.

This authority was formed so that no more contracts are signed under CPEC that are mostly favorable to China

That is history. Now Pakistanis would sign contracts that overwhelmingly favor China and further f*ck up Pakistan's economy

Pakistan is already crumbling under those capacity payment power plants that Noon League signed in its previous tenure

People are so stupid when they said that Imran rolled back CPEC projects or stalled it lol.... He only did it because they were not in Pakistan's interest. Remember , China has its own interest and will try to squeeze as much leverage as it can. It is up to Pakistanis alone to make sure the deals are made in our favor and won't take advantage of us.
