Govt to provide 18 lakh new rural power connections in 4 yrs

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS)

SANGSAD BHABAN, June 3 (BSS) - State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Mohammad Enamul Haque today informed the House that the government has taken a project to provide 18 lakh rural power connections by next four years under the Rural Electrification Board (REB).

"Under the project, 48,000 km power supply lines will be setup in 453 upazilas under 70 Palli Biddut Samities," he said while replying to a question of treasury bench member Shamsur Rahman Sharif.

He said the government has approved the project on January 31 this year and it would be completed by December 2015.

Under the project, the state minister said the electricity
connection would be made as per population ratio of the upazilas.
"According to the pre-assessment, 100 km or more than that power
supply lines will be setup in each and every constituency of the
lawmakers," he added.

Replying to another query from Gholam Dastagir Gazi, the state minister said after assuming the power the present government has decided to set up 12 power stations under the REB.

Of the 12 power plants, six were commissioned and presently
supplying 150 MW power, he said, adding construction of one power
station is undergoing while agreements for other five stations are under processed.

AL seems to start anew the Khamba erection business for its caders in the name of distributing a non-exist electricity. This party may well employ Kokko, the 2nd son of BZ of BNP, as the Chief Consultant for this job. Kokko earned quite an experience when he kept on erecting these Khambas under the patronage of her mother the Madam PM. Finally, BNP was ousted from power because of lack of power. I expect a similar fate for this govt as it was with the last one.

Transmission and distribution system is integrated part of electrical system. So building distribution system is not the problem but problem will if they use 2nd hand poles and do corruption while installing the distribution system. Corruption can happen in couple of ways. 1st buying the pole at higher rate then the market price. Not using all the pole that they are supposed to do. What happen in this case they install pole at the desired distance for the 1st few say 500 m. Then they start putting it after 700, 800 or 1 km due to stealing of the pole.

But if can be done perfectly it will be a great work as bringing electricity connection to the villages where there is no electricity will help the villagers a lot even if they get only 2 hour of electricity for now. The other thing is that price of poles are increasing. Later the same project will cost more.

Lolz....will they even erect Khamba, it would be expensive rather they might erect "Pakka Muli Bash" which is cost effective :taz: ! At least they are having a competition, if bnp last time stole tk 1, bal this time are determined to make the amount tk 5...why will they get defeated to poor bnp ?

Govt is unable to provide electricity to its exiting connection where will hthey provide them . it will increase the load shedding

So, I am asking you to kindly make Captain Planet understand this small thing that what is the use of erecting khamba millions of km long if there is no electricity at the root. Instead, he is teaching people of the difference between transmission and distribution lines. Hope, he understands the difference between volt and watt. I am surprised to see his lack of understanding of sarcasism, too.

I am surprised about one thing in this forum Most of the posters are party oriented. It is not an offence. But, it should not come out when it is a defence forum. Both Indians and Pakistanis follow the basic rule. They are not here for party politics.

18 lakh connection is pure lie to loot money. Here is Awami Khamba looting details.

Daily Amardesh -????, ?????? ? ??? ????, ?? ??????? ????, ?? ??? ???? ?????

Yes, this is what AL govt intends to do, looting. This is how AL will distribute this big money among their rangbaj caders throughout the country. These caders will then act as hooligans before and during the election. Hopefully, they will not get a gono dholai after the election.

This connection will be given in 4 year time... n by that time electricity production will increase by couple of thousand mega watts. Whether load shedding will increase or not but it will be beneficial for the villages without electricity connection.

Did you even read the article and try to find out whether any corruption stuff was written in it or not??? The whole article was whining about 4 party government at their time did put up 1 million pole and this government is utilizing 2.5 million pole. Another thing they pointed out pole price is 2 time high that 4 party government time. But interestingly did not mention a single word what is current price of the so that people can understand whether it is corruption or what is the real price of the pole.

In one word a complete bs article without any specific corruption charge just to fool people those who have no idea about the inside issue.

N please do not post all these bs just because your falu bhai's newspaper posted it which is banned from circulating any print edition.

I was thinking the same with my short term here, most Bangladeshi here are biased. Supporting a party isn't offense, it's true but what's wrong there in criticizing own party, did you notice that some hardliner here can't stand anything against there supporting party/view?

It's only possible by Bangladeshi, they die fighting in there own community be it home or abroad with added nature of "Hujuge Nacha". Look at Pakistani/indian they are never fighting among them but it doesn't mean they don't have any difference in their view regarding their home country.

Bro its only 3-4 people at best and all of them are associated with certain party. This is the reason they are so blind folded about anything which goes against their party ideology.

Have you seen another thing thet even can not tolerate any good or positive news about Bangladesh.

Well it's not a good idea to promote generalized comments, considering the
reactions of few. It's like saying (as some say anyways) ..

All Bangladeshis are followers of Ummah waiting for the Caliphate or
All Bangladesis are secular by nature waiting for John Lennon.
All Bangladeshis are Bla bla, they love Pakistan/India more than
India/Pakistan.

As we know none of the above is possible or true but I do agree that
hardliners succeed in diverting rational debates even if others are
trying to grasp the scenerio.

Not all Bangladeshis fight among themselves:lol:

Integra is correct in his assessment. But, 'Ummah' people are the loudest in this forum. Most of these guys have Pakistan leaning. It is after a long 40 years that surprises me. Thing is, they proclaim themselves not as Jamaati, but as BNP supporters. This creates a problem for the real BNP supporters.

Anyway, all of us should be pro-Bangladesh and we should not be biased towards any single party. We should praise or criticize any party depending upon the activities we are discussing here. Thanks to integra for correctly evaluating the trend of BD posters.
