The Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase today approved proposals for importing one lakh tonnes of rice through open tenders.
The proposals include import of 50,000 tonnes of non-boiled rice worth Tk 210.35 crore from India and another 50,000 tonnes of rice worth Tk 213.40 crore from Singapore by the food ministry.
