Govt to Announce a 100% Increase in Basic Pay of Federal Employees

Good news for the government servants is on the cards, as the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) government is mulling a hundred percent increase in the basic pays of federal employees.

As per details, the task force on Institutional Reforms has decided, in principle, to equalize the basic pay scale of all the federal employees to eliminate discrimination in basic salaries and privileges of public servants.

The committee has proposed amendments and revision in the 2017’s Pay Scale Chart to increase salaries for the employees of BPS-01 to BPS-21.

If approved, the increments will be as under:

Government itself is first source of liquidity in the society and this(pay increase) is one way to do it... it also increases revenue... as again all government employees pay taxes... it also brings in talent which otherwise would have either chosen private sector or left country for greener pastures.

I keep having to say this, it's was a corruption PERCEPTION index, based upon government stats and data provided. Meaning, people are more willing and able to report corruption under this government than any of the previous government, due to the tools this government has provided.

Its false to say Pakistan became more corrupt.

Just stop.

He's right though, you can laugh all you want, but corruption at a low level exists, because poorer employees don't get paid enough to be able to survive off of.

This pay increase seems to be targeted towards low level employees, not the already wealthy.

Increase the salaries of local police too by 100-200% and many of the problems would be solved. Give them dignity and they will work with dignity.

A poor cop does not want to take bribes if his is paid enough. But since he's not, he starts taking bribes to survive and gets addicted.

Theres a misconception that Corruption is related to low salaries. It is not. If it was no rich would have indulged in it. Or all poor would have indulged in it. But this is not true.
Corruption is linked with Human greed which is a inherent characteristic of Humans , its natural. Its present in every human what different is the scope.
Didn't u see the corruption perception index chart , none of the country has zero corruption.
