Govt approves Rs 300m to raise Pakistan Rangers special wing

ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Thursday , On a proposal sent by the Ministry of Interior, the ECC approved allocation of Rs300 million through the technical supplementary grant for raising a special wing of the Pakistan Rangers for the (protection of) Kartarpur Corridor on the recommendation of General Headquarters.

The ECC directed that a three-member committee, consisting of Adviser to Prime Minister on Institutional Reforms and Austerity Ishrat Husain, finance secretary and a representative of the Ministry of Interior, would look into details of the Kartarpur special force proposal and further rationalise the cost.

Ok, trying hard to prove “PAKISTAN FOR ALL RELIGION” first i was happy, but now i am getting bored, is this the top priority right now ? Give this sum to PAC or HIT, invest in their development, invest MORE on education and science. Pakistan needs independency on technology.

But improving police is a 10 year ordeal.
Some situations cannot wait that long so this make sense in the short term.

improving police is not an impossible task ... nor it will take 10yrs just need to streamline few things and change the structure with army's help

yeah, it can be done.
Problem is that there are mafias at every corner. Just look at the lawyers.

Personally I think new police officers should be recruited with a minimum of a bachelors degree, get strict 2 year training in law enforcement and slowly phase out the old police.
Old police should be given a severance package so they have enough money to find new jobs.

If done right, the entire old police can be replaced in under 10 years.

ASIs are selected from sipahis and minimum education for ASI is BA/BSc
Maximum age for Sub inspector is 25 and minimum education BA/BSC
And ASPs are selected through CSS
Entire police is educated

Jnb Such religious Sites will give you more money and benefits. We have examples of Saudia, Iran, iraq and Dubai. These Sites are playing major roles in their economy. Even if PIA start some direct flights yo UK and Canada it will give us more passangers as Sikh Yatries will come in Groups. Every field is important and have a separate funds but in simple u can't spend all your money on just one project. Kartarpor Type projects will change Pakistan's Face in the world.

YES IT IS.
a chain is only as strong as the weakest link. if we ensure the promise of Jinnah then every non muslim is safe in Pakistan. The white in the flag represents them. If we follow the prophet pbuh then every minority and every person seeking refuse must be protected. Now 300 million is only £1.4 million pounds. this is a drop in the ocean if we get every Pakistani to feel safe.

Educated police force is the Key.
How can cops uphold the law if they can't even read it?

Of course if you want good police you need to pay them properly, and that money needs to come out of taxes that Pakistani people need to start paying

Police need major reforms, not Just uniforms change in every 5 years.
*Proper physical fitness training and weight management.
*Weapon training
*Social training/Communication
*Education

Constable is Grade 5, Head Constable is grade 7, Assistant Sub-Inspector is grade 9. I am not sure what are the current educational requirements for these jobs. These jobs are sold in Pakistan. They are not earned.
