Governor of Jakarta a Chinese Indonesian

Japanese kill a lot of Chinese, how do you feel?
Indonesian kill a lot of Chinese, can you still be loyal?

Hard for some mainland Chinese to understand.

Sure I feel bad, but they are not our responsibility.

Just like the "ethnic Chinese" Kokang, they are Burmese citizens and thus the responsibility of the Burmese government.

That's why China is not interfering, and letting Burma take care of their own internal affairs.

Our responsibility is towards Chinese citizens.

.
Even Chinese nationals living in Japan who choose to nationalize as Japanese Citizen still will claim to be Chinese . We have over 1 million Chinese who are, technically by law , Japanese Citizens. Yet the consider themselves first Han, second as Japanese National.

Perhaps it is the fact that Chinese identity is important for Chinese. That is what I've always admired about them. The pride in their Chinese identity. I've some Filipino friends who are ethnically Han , and they will only prefer another Chinese Filipino for marriage , quite interesting!

In history of war. But that does not stop over 1 million Chinese to call Japan their home, or prevent them from applying for Japanese Citizenship. :)

I'm talking about why the Chinese government is sitting back and allowing Burma to attack the Kokang.

Because being ethnic Chinese is not the same as being a Chinese national.

We have no legal responsibilities to help ethnic Chinese such as the Kokang. Unless they renounce their current citizenship and apply for Chinese citizenship instead.

Until then they are Burmese, and the internal affairs of Burma.

Chinese Govt is allowing Burma to attack the Kokang. wot fuucking are you talking about? It isn't China allow them to do anything, It's Burma who act like an rude uncivilized tribe and use forces to solve problem. It's Burma's fault.

I agree on this. Therefore most of us will just flee to another country. Is just I fear some may not afford to flee.

Once I was discussing the 1979 Sino-VietNam war, some PRC members said China had to intervene in Viet Nam because the ethnic Chinese in Viet Nam (With no PRC citizenship) were getting persecuted. So is this a lie? Because according to you, China don't intervene if the ethnic Chinese has no PRC citizenship.

And we are not doing anything about it, despite our overwhelming military/economic/diplomatic power over Burma. Given the power disparity we could stop Burma easily. But we don't.

Why? Because the Kokang are not Chinese citizens, they are Burmese citizens and thus the responsibility of Burma.

If you have a problem, you can go and fight yourself as a free agent.

I'm sure it's not that bad! Isn't Malaysia 33% Chinese ? It can't be that bad. Some of my personal associates in Philippines are Chinese Filipinos , and most own large businesses or are successful physicians ( whose families own actual hospitals ). They live much higher quality than average Filipino Malays...believe you me!

Who would they fight for, in the event of a Sino-Japanese war?

Avoid personal attacks please.

We are not stopping Burma from cracking down on the Kokang. Despite having overwhelming military/economic/diplomatic power over Burma.

Refugees are due to humanitarian concerns, but they will be sent back when the hostilities are over. They are still Burmese citizens.

We are stopping Burma from cracking down on the Kokang. The aircraft disappear near Kokang areas since the incident, and Chinese govt is pushing Burmese govt and Kokang allies to peaceful negotiation.

In Malaysia there's a thing called a "Bumiputra" law. This law makes non malay citizens of Malaysia into a second class citizens.

In the 1970s, the Malaysian government implemented policies which The Economist called "racially discriminatory" designed to favour bumiputras (including affirmative action in public education) to create opportunities, and to defuse inter-ethnic tensions following the extended violence against Chinese Malaysians in the 13 May Incident in 1969.[1] These policies have succeeded in creating a significant urban Malay and even a Native Bornean middle class as well. They have been less effective in eradicating poverty among rural communities. Some analysts have noted a backlash of resentment from excluded groups, in particular the sizeable Chinese and Indian Malaysian minorities.

"Aircraft disappear", OK.

China always pushes both sides into peaceful negotiation, we even do that with Israel and Palestine (who are also both foreigners).

If the Kokang were Chinese citizens it would be a war, but they are not. They are Burmese citizens, i.e. foreigners.

Why should we fight a war on behalf of foreigners?
