Governor Ishrat Ul Ibad


KARACHI, Oct 22: The flats in Abbas Town damaged in a deadly blast earlier this year would be reconstructed by March 2014, said Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan on Tuesday.

He said this while talking to members of the Abbas Town Committee who had paid him a visit at the Governor House on Tuesday. The governor said that the bomb blast which resulted in the loss of scores of lives was a tragic incident.—APP

The Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and the Federal Railways Minister jointly launched the project to renovate the heritage building of the Karachi Cantonment Railway Station as part of the ongoing Pursukoon Karachi initiative.
 
There are ample opportunities in Sindh for power generation projects. This was stated by Governor of Sindh, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan while talking to a delegation of the Chinese firm- CWPC, headed by Li Ren Chao, and chairman of KASB Bank, Arif Ali Shah Bukhari, at Sindh Governor House.
The Chinese firm which has extensive experience of generating electricity from the garbage and coal, has expressed interest to initiate such projects.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto University of Law (SZABUL) and London College of Business Management and Information Technology (LCBMIT), in the presence of the Governor Sindh, Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan at Sindh Governor House.

KARACHI - Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has called for intensifying the laying of CCTV network. He stated this during a briefing regarding CCTV project at the Governor House’s on Tuesday. Ishrat pointed out that the CCTV cameras help in arresting the accused involved in criminal activities. He said for the installation of CCTV cameras focus should be on the areas where the crime ration was higher and that such cameras be also installed in areas around the metropolis. The meeting was informed that 95 percent work had been completed for the installation of cameras in industrial and commercial areas and that by December 20 all the cameras would be activated which would be monitored through the command and control system. These cameras were also helping towards tackling the crimes, it further stated. The governor directed that all the stakeholders be consulted for the installation of cameras in the areas where there was a need. In corridors IV and V the cameras be installed in consultation with the law enforcement agencies (LEAs), he further said. It was also informed that Ojha Campus of a medical university was being connected with the Super Highway so that people of other areas be also provided health facilities. KARACHI: The Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project would take some concrete shape soon, the Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan said on Monday.

He was talking to the participants of the 43rd PN Staff Course who called on him at the Governor House here.

The Governor further stated that the Lyari Expressway would be completed soon and that these projects would considerably help ease the traffic problem in the metropolis.

He also informed that the targeted action against the criminal elements, has produced positive results and due to this action without any discrimination the law and order situation is improving.

Dr. Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan said that Karachi is the commercial hub and generates 60 to 70 percent revenue for the country.

He further informed that the Prime Minister has directed that peace be restored in the metropolis at all costs.

The Governor also asked the people to keep a vigilant eye in their surroundings and help towards making the city peaceful.

He said that the rangers and the police are fully capable of curbing the criminal activities.

Dr. Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan said that the federal as well as the provincial government are serious towards the development projects in the province and the metropolis.

He said that the security issue is also very important and full attention is being paid towards this very aspect.
