KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan Thursday inaugurated the Command and Control Centre, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, to curb crimes in industrial areas through an electronic surveillance system.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Governor said that as he promised with industrialists, the electronic surveillance system has been introduced to help check crimes.

He said that the purpose of this system is to quickly respond to avert any incidents of crimes. This centre will operate under the supervision of police and Rangers, he added.

The Governor expressed his commitment to control crimes in the metropolis very soon. However, he said that for this purpose joint efforts would be needed by law enforcement agencies, business community, Ulema, and the public.

Dr Ishratul Ebad said that under this project 910 cameras have been installed at 200 selected places in industrial areas.
