Government refuses information on KALI 5000 citing national security

I presume KALI is nothing out there. Its simply tough to reposition KALI and emit high pulses for a short duration in the exact missile path.
Moreover if it had been achieved DRDO would be having Archimedes celebration. Considering no one country has perfected this weapon.

.
I'm not worrying sir because I know the propoer authorites are already on to this matter but it is still worth highlighting on a public forum and worth discussing in my opinion. Someone asking the MoD to disclose the status of their classified projects is very curious to say the least.
Agreed, why do they need the status? how important is it to them? is public going to benefit from it?

APPLICATIONS

  • KALI has been put to various uses by DRDO
  • The X-Rays emitted are being used in Ballistic research as an illuminator for ultrahigh speed photography by the Defence Ballistics Research Institute (DBRL) in Chandigarh.
  • The Microwave emissions are used for Electro Magnetic Research.
  • The Microwave producing versionof KALI has also been used by DRDO scientists for testing the vulnerability of the electronic systems of the TEJAS LCA, which was then under development.
  • It has also helped in designing electrostatic shields to "harden" the LCA and missiles from microwave attack by the enemy as well as protecting satellites against deadly Electro Magnetic Impulses (EMI) generated by nuclear weapons and other cosmic disturbances, which "fry" and destroy electronic circuits.
  • Electronic components currently used in missiles can withstand fields of approximately 300 V/cm, while the fields in case of EMI attack reach thousands of V/cm.

very true, would have gone around the town tom-tomming the "state of the art" weapon. well if they can build a weapon to scramble the brains of sneaking terrorists that will be a great achievement it will save lot of lives.

We just need a Mutant for that ;)

It is designed to work in such a way that if a missile is launched in India's direction, it will quickly emit powerful pulses of Relativistic Electrons Beams (REB).
In that case why not DRDO produced in numbers to defend Indian airspace instead of investing huge sum of USD to buy S-400 ?
Even US / Russia fails to produce such weapons, May be they refuse to provide info to politicians because they want to hide huge spending with no result. Israel is the most innovative developer of new tech to defend itself even they don't posses this kind of mythical weapon. I don't know why some members want to humiliate himself by mentioning this even many time on PDF India members claims Gayari incident is the result of this weapon, just utter nonsense. I my self electrical engineer such weapons are plausible but to build and field them is not feasible in near future, only exist in books and theological studies.

Its on a evolving stage.
Let it be embedded in aerial platform.
Then we should see.

Actually,Solid state laser is the way to go.Don't know whether this one really exists or not,but I don't think this one is a practical choice.follow the path US is following.

All I have to tel you is...

Grow a brain.

Also do learn a bit about BARC and their work on particle accelerators before making such ignorant comments.
You are funny and please don't quote me since you people failed to make jet engine and talking about future weaponry which no other developed nation posses.

Agreed, US also abandoned the YAL-1 laser-based boost-phase ABM design, because of the limited range and feasibility of the system.
