PMLN is stuck in Punjab, MQM with the urdu-speakers of Karachi, PPP with sindhis in interior sindh, PTM with some pashtuns in KPK, JUI with madrassa students, etc. PTI is the only party which gets massive support all the way from azad kashmir/GB down to Gwadar. Take out IK or PTI and you will have a polarized country one step closer to civil war and balkanization along ethnic lines.

Precisely. IK needs to be around for as long as possible to cement the gains made between the people, especially Pashtuns living in the former FATA and the state. IK stood against drone strikes and the rights of people. He tried to be helpful, and was personally asked by Trump to help with the Afghan peace process.

(Side note, will Pakistan-Americans, especially PTI supporters, vote for Trump the next go around, considering the anti-Trump statement Bilawal made and that Trump never tried to oust IK... will Pakistani-Americans be chanting “Let’s go Brandon” soon enough?)

Once Afghan turned out the way it did, he has tried to help them and their country not go into a humanitarian disaster which would have knock on effects for Pakistan and the world. The gains amongst the Pashtun people could be lost, and the proof of his support amongst them is clear to see as probably lost that attended the Peshawar Jalsa were probably locals or from other parts of KPK, especially the former FATA.

For national harmony, IK needs to be protected as the current political situation plays itself out. Democracy is the only way forward for Pakistan to achieve any modicum of stability and prosperity. If needed, someone should start a fund to pay for IK’s security. I’m sure more then enough people will be ready to pay for his safety, even if they are not his supporters, everyone understands we can’t, as a nation afford to have another Bhutto situation, ZAB or BB.

Lets not attach to all this nationalistic sentiment. That is dangerous in the long. Pakistan needs to come out of this nationalistic thoughts of Punjabi power, Pakhtun pride, Sindhi this, Baluch that and mohajir blah... This is eating the nation up.
