Please...Google may cooperate with the government on what people search, but Google is far from what Baidu does, which is literally obeying any order from the government on what people will receive from their search.
They are both two separate things and comparing apples and oranges. Google's cooperation was more a cheat, considering the sort of rep it has established. Not to mention the fact all the covering they are doing is purely like "Oh we got some mechanisms in place to not let privacy of US citizens be compromised"... What about the rest of the world?
These leaks have destroyed any trust in the "Move to the cloud" paradigm shift.
Google has started censoring as well about links of copyright violation under US digital millennium copright act... Google is a search engine, if xyz thing exists on the web, it should not remove a search engine link to it. If the US DMCA has to be applied, raise it the websites/companies hosting the content, instead they US government is passing DMCA edicts onto Google.
