Google do provide a better search quality than Baidu, ads are cleared marked.
Baidu mix ads with search information. Sometimes it is not easy to find useful information out of ads.

Yet Google provide many information outside China in English.
But China has very limited population that can use English
While Baidu mainly provide information only in Chinese with content that most Chinese are interested in.
So Google was already shrinking before leaving China, focus more on elite group that can speak English..

Also Google does not cooperate with China government for information check. though they do with US NSA..

IMHO, it's may be a little too late for Google.
Google is stupid enough to let Baidu take over the search market in China.
Ignoring the massive Chinese market = saying goodbye to lots of big bucks!
China should impose more restrictions on Google such as insisting that all the Chinese search metadata be located in China, etc.

Agree, if you're working in a technical industry, Google is daily used. especially in IT industry.
hope google can come back.

Only about 1% of China's population has English fluency, I don't think there is any way for Google to win the Chinese search market.
