its a crazy year. Our tourism numbers rise over 17% compared to last year and large parts of this are high luxury tourists. Never before we had that many yachts infront sardinia or capri.

Bernabo Bocca (boss from Federalberghi) said we see the largest annual rise ever recorded. So far most hotels are totally booked out. The downside effect is, that the favorite tourist spots are bursting right now.

So while its good for business its really hard to find a calm spot for us locals. We aren´t directly at teh sea here at Lucca but its not that far. We have some great beached near La Spezia and i went out with my friends there yesterday and all our favorite spots were full. That pretty much sucks.

You should thank isis and assad, all the tourists in europe are going to spain and italy instead of Turkey and greece because of the refugees and it being unsafe.

Will drop sharply when the ME is safe and calm again, tourists want cheap vacations and cheap shopping and great service. I don't know about the service but I don't think it's cheap in italy or spain.

We have so many hotels in Turkey that I think they could house the whole turkish population :cheesy:

Good for Italy, the economy there needs a boost badly.
That said the government in Rome needs to encourage new non-tourist related growth in the economy... if Italy is to return to economic stability

true. that has something to do with it likely.
and tourist prices in Italy are definitely not cheap... when compared to M.E standards

Our prize are pretty much expensive. So normally only rich people come. Italy is not a spot for cheap holidays. But since the instability in eastern med many people pay that money and come here. Its positive. I hope it stays that way. I dont mean the instability but that people learn our beautiful country and come again.

Italian government debt. The Italian government debt is the public debt owed by the government of Italy to all public and private lenders. As of January 2014 , the Italian government debt stands at €2.1 trillion (131.1% of GDP).

You badly need to boost tourism by 2000% italy is on the cusp of being a failed state

that is the thing. the Italian economy is far too dependent on tourism. what the Italians need are increased exports, more big businesses, less strikes & protests by the unions & most of the government budget cut.
along with government loans & grants being pumped into businesses & start-ups to create more jobs.

Italians have expensive car brands like ferrari and lambourgini, they should do like germany invest in less expensive cars like Audi, BMW and Mercedes. They already have the tech so that would help Italian economy a lot.

I went in the summer of this year. While the city of Rome had nice building and good clubs I found the people rude. They vitiate your experience.

Easier said than done dude.

Italians do not have the industrial discipline of
Germans to pull this off. They tried with Fiat and
that failed miserably.

Maybe we should copy the industrial discipline of VW?

you dont have to be a "corporate slave" at all. the corporation is an important part of the nation.
also Italy isn't poor by anyone's standards

I worked in germany as trainee.
All the idiots there in the office worked as long the boss was there to look good for him. So they stayed each day 10h. They staed there doesnt mean they were productive. I propably achieved more creative stuff in one hour than they in 10.

I didn´t give a shit about this bs. I worked not one second longer than contract. Contract said 39h per week. When i had more hours at some week days i worked just two hours at friday. And i stayed not one second longer. I work to allow me a living. I dont live to work.

No, because you will bail us out with your sweet tax money. :D Because if we go down we will take evry fucker down with us.

Remember Lehmann brothers? That was just a bank. So you better put more money on your saving account amigo. :D Your government will need it for the bailout.
