This is why national language needs to be changed to Farsi, or Balochi
@dsr478
If the purpose of partition was to separate from India because we as a nation are different from them, then this imitating and incorporation of Indian cultural influence is nullifying that basis for partition. At this rate we might as well rejoin India.
Right, and this is mostly due to the difference in language (as you pointed out) even though historically Iran/Persia had a massive cultural presence in the region of Pakistan.
Farsi was the language of the educated Muslim class pre-British colonization, just as English is today. This can be reversed. Also friendly ties and greater cultural cooperation with Iran and Turkey can also help to counter Bollywood influence.
Those ties might seem faint from the standpoint of our current situation where they are indeed faint, but if we as a nation can accept English which is historically more alien to our region than Farsi or Balochi, then we can easily revive Farsi as our national language. Urdu is already heavily Farsi and Arabic and uses Farsi alphabet.
Of course, this is all well and danddy but the political will is all that is needed. Our politicians can't even decide on nationally vital decisions like the Kalabagh Dam, forget about countering Indian cultural influence.
Freedom, like anything, is earned and not given.
These people who think freedom is their right are under an illusion. And if they are using this "freedom" to undermine Pakistan's social fabric then they are traitors, plain and simple.
