The top 10 of the index was dominated by Australia, Canada, Japan, and Europe

The Global Liveability Index 2019 has placed Bangladesh capital Dhaka as the third least livable city in the world, just after war-torn Syrian capital Damascus and Lagos.

The same index of the previous year ranked Dhaka at the second least livable city in the world.

This year, Vienna became the index topper as the world's most livable city in 2019, followed by two of Australia’s largest cities, Melbourne and Sydney, and Osaka and Calgary after considering various factors and indicators among 140 cities around the world.

The index was researched by The Economist Intelligence Unit and released on Wednesday.

Ranked at 138, Dhaka received an overall rating of 39.2 (100=ideal) in this year’s index.

Dhaka received 55 for stability, 29.2 for healthcare, 40.5 for culture and environment, 41.7 for education and 26.8 in infrastructure.

The top 10 of the index was dominated by Australia, Canada, Japan, and Europe.

Biggest improves in the index include Moscow, Belgrade, and Hanoi, while Detroit, Tunis, and Tripoli were among the biggest decliners.

Indian cities have not fared too well in this year’s index with both Delhi and Mumbai sliding down ranks relative to last year.

New Delhi dropped six places to 118, from 112 last year, while Mumbai also fell by two places to 119, from 117 last year.

Pakistan’s Karachi also featured in the bottom 10.

According to The Economist Intelligence Unit, every city is assigned a rating of relative comfort for over 30 qualitative and quantitative factors across five broad categories: stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.

Each factor in a city is rated as acceptable, tolerable, uncomfortable, undesirable or intolerable. For qualitative indicators, a rating is awarded based on the judgment of in-house analysts and in-city contributors. For quantitative indicators, a rating is calculated based on the relative performance of a number of external data points.

The scores are then compiled into an index and weighted to provide a score of 1–100, where 1is considered intolerable and 100 is considered ideal.

I am wondering why Dhaka or any other 3rd world country/city will be important to an American! I smell something fishy!

. .
It’s a mega city that’s why important.
@Black_cats Like his unhealthy obsession related to Bangladeshi peace keepers ? This one ( based on 12 years old news) I only find now , can't search his threads from profile , but can remember another baseless thread targeting Bangladesh .

So I supposed that he did not post this thread because he consider Dhaka as important , but he had another reason.

Sp asked him the critical question , but it seems you already answered for him !

If transportation and water clogging issue and air pollution can be reduced Dhaka will improve its rank. Big cities like Delhi and Mumbai is also very close in terms of ranks as well.

We have donated too much to fund vaccinations, education, malnutrition programs and feed Rohingya, many more. That's why.
USAID even pays for Bangladeshi HIV/STD program because Bangladeshi Government thinks that Bangladesh doesn't have infected vagina.

I have no problem with UN police as long as police doesn't become a sex offender or criminal. This is a truth in this case.

Looking at the stats the only thing that improved is stability, everything else is the same score. Given the situation with Boko Haram in Nigeria causing more people to move towards the city and Syria being under sanctions and still at war there isn't much pride to be found in the little improvement.

Guys one area that Dhaka will improve rapidly is infrastructure and so expect the rankings to steadily go up every year.

Hmmm butt hurt Sayeed Amar Khan. Maybe Ashiqur Rahman idiot who wanted to fire PL-15 missile from F-7.

Here you go again. You will not be able to read the below news article. It has been written in English. Use Google translator.

How is the Mahi International business going? Did you supply some rice to DGDP this week?

Here is an evidence from Bangladeshi newspaper.

.
How to create bustling cities in BD apart from Dhaka? Chittagong is somewhat close to full of activities. But none other cities in BD. N.Ganj and Gazipur are two suburbs of Dhaka. And all other cities like Khulna, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Bogra, Mymenshigh, Comilla etc are some roads, buildings, educational institutions and some people. Like nothing is going on in those places. How to create a situation where people will feel to migrate to those places instead of Dhaka?

Armed forces is the most important asset of Bangladesh. And This is an organization of pure gentlemen, loyal , responsible and patriot people . This is the only organization in Bangladesh that is totally corruption free and also free of foreign influence unlike our politics and other branches .

So you can not judge a whole basket of apples if there are 1/2 rotten apples.

The fact that you know syed amar khan is enough proof to know you’re not an American

Basically you know him too. Internet is free to use for anyone, bandwidth isn't but I have plenty of bandwidth to burn. If your website is listed online and has names on it. Then anyone can quote those names. bdmilitary.com is registered under the name of Ashiqur Rahman. It's easy to find. Syeed Idiot Amar Khan is posting his stupid Facebook page here from 2016. So how hard it would to find him, Ashiqur Rahman, Bilal Miah (IT helpdesk guy). Ashiqur Rahman and Sayeed Dump Khan are asking dump questions to anyone in the Twitter accounts and identifying name and locations. How hard it would be to find these idiots?
These two idiots even don't know who are they communicating with and disclosing their wife's underwear size in Facebook.

Do you think it's hard to find? It's not hard at all.

Didn't your mom teach you guys when you're little kids that don't talk to unknown person? You're constantly talking to unknown persons in Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Tinder.... Why are you guys disclosing identity in return of simple brochures?

I have smarter tools than you, mate!
I don't care whether you think I am American or not. I am happy as long as I am enjoying being the privileged person in America.
Tradecraft!!!

Evidence

The growth of military involvement in commerce has had serious repercussions for the armed forces themselves.

The official probe into the country's worst ever mutiny by the paramilitary Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) border guards in 2009 - which left at least 68 high ranking military officials dead - bears this out.

Commission Chairman M Anisuzzaman Khan said that the mutiny was partly fuelled by resentment among the BDR's rank-and-file over the corruption of army officers engaged in the retail sale of consumer items.

It recommended that no forces - military or civil defence - should be allowed to engage in commercial or business activities.

''Law and order forces are meant for defending the country, they are not supposed to run factories or business units," Mr Khan said.

So you're basically competing with Myanmar! The competition is who can crash more aircraft than others? Death race!!
Why don't you have healthy competition with Indian Air Force, Thai Air Force or Pakistani Air Force?

Your are the guy who posted something in your website saying Raven ES-05 has 120KM range? How do you guess it? Looks like the range came out of your rear side?
Question: MBDA Meteor's range is almost 250km. How does the aircraft engage enemy aircraft if it doesn't see in BVR combat? Spend quality time on research before posting idiotic comments. Raven ES-05 has more than 300KM range. Why do you think one nation signed classified information sharing agreements another nation. Just to buy military equipment! Why did Bangladesh signed military cooperation agreement with Russia and China? So that Russia and China can share information whether Bangladesh is buying anything or not.

What did you learn today at PDF? Like Bilal Miah said in his post. You're here to learn. What did you learn today about Raven Es-05?
