@Arabian Legend

Thanks for the excellent share bro.

Where do I read the report in its entirety? Is there a PDF file somewhere that goes into bigger detail for each country?

The GCC is doing excellently.

KSA (24), UAE (12), Qatar (16), Kuwait (40), Bahrain (44) and Oman (46).

I think that we can all improve that though.

You are welcome.

The entire assessment can be found in the link I posted in my OP. From there you can choose which and what country you like. You will find that option on the left side of the page. Here is the link once again.

I was thinking more about a detailed report for each country but it seems that there is none of that on this page. They must have made it for each country though.:)

UAE is doing remarkably well on many fronts. I really believe that we should imitate them on some fronts. A lot to learn.

Thank you once again.

Ok you seem lost. LOL. Here is the link. I chose KSA as an example. You can go from there.

Yesterday I was due to the lack of sleep.:D

Yes, I have seen that. What I meant is a bigger PDF report and their reasoning for giving the scores that they did on all those fields for each country. Numbers/scores are fine on their own but I would like to see the reasons given behind those scores. I don't see that anywhere but as I said they surely have drafted the reasons and used available data to give their verdicts in the form of the scores that they use in their report.

If such data exists publicly I would like to read that part about KSA.:)

Quit Arabic coffee and playing Balot and you will be fine. Stop video gaming. LOL.

These data are collected, evaluated and then weighted based on reports taken from sources like The World Bank, UN forums, and government released data. Here is a PDF with details on how scores have been collected and then rated.

Enjoy :pop:

The Arabs here in Copenhagen are not selling even close to as good coffee as back home. I am yet to find real Arabian coffee so I am almost not drinking coffee anymore.:(

:omghaha:

Thank you. When I clicked on those scores I saw that link to The World Bank etc. I just could not find that PDF report and now you found it which is excellent.:yay:

I will look at it now. Overall I am very happy for how the GCC has performed. Long may it continue!

PS: I don't play video games anymore. That was 5-6 years back.

I find it strange tbqh considering the large Arab community residing in Copenhagen. You surely have it over there but not the quality you are looking for.

Yup that's right. Arabic coffee is very unique I must say. Hardly to find high quality in places outside the ME. Even in the ME you would find different qualities but not as that we have in KSA, Yemen and Jordan. Gotta admit that I'm a coffee addict, Arabian off course. Whenever I travel, I make sure that I take my blends with me. Not sure how would I survive without it.:D

I think you can shop online for it. There must be some online suppliers. No?

LoL that was hilarious. Yeah Balot is an awesome card game but playing it consume much of your time, 4 to 5 hours easily.

The GCC states are indeed heading in the right direction. Huge economic growth especially the non oil sectors.

There is a large community indeed. I can honestly tell you that I can get 90% of all the commodities that I can in KSA in terms of food etc. I can get dates from KSA, olive oil, olives and even imported fruits/vegetables (sometimes because they are expensive to import but you can ask them and they have their sources), spices etc. The problem is just that somehow I have found it hard to find real authentic Arabian coffee. Even in ordinary shops it's quite hard although I have seen Coffee Arabica from Yemen for instance but it is the ordinary one. My coffee machine is also damaged so I cannot make authentic coffee. New to buy a new one.

I once drank a lot of coffee and tea too but now I honestly stick to drinking water, fruit juices and obviously milk.:D. During winter I will start on coffee and tea once again.

Yes, I am sure that there is that.

Haha, I remember playing it with my grandfather. He introduced it to me. Very fond memories. I miss playing it. It's one of those simple pleasures of life that you miss when you live abroad and have done so for many years.

Yes, the impressive and rapid growth of the non-oil sector is what makes me really happy and hopeful. Also our investments in education. I just hope that we can keep all that unrest out and that our leaders will make sane decisions. Somehow I have a feeling that we might witness a bit of unrest in the upcoming years if certain reforms are not made. Politically wise and partially economically wise. We need more direct participation by people. Don't you think? Anyway we are off-topic and I wanted to ask you how life is in Canada but we will spam this thread further.:)

I also need to fix a few things.:)

PS: They sell Almarai products also.:D

Weren't in KSA couple months ago? Why didn't you take some with you! Just bring with you what you can't find. Always feel home.:D

Drinking a lot of coffee will make you Caffeine intoxicated so you need to be careful.

Yes, I am sure that there is that.

Try this one here. You may like it. Not sure about the quality though but it looks ok to me.

But sometime it leads to unwanted situations, get mad when losing or get mad at your playmate.

You should try playing it online in your free time @Kammelna.com.

Reforms are coming. The government itself is having a hard time introducing new reforms because of the society structure itself. Im talking about social reforms not economical one. Remember that economic reforms depend on many factors that need to be taken in a graduate way. Inflation rate shouldn't increase instead remain steady.

Take your time.

PS: They sell Almarai products also.:D

 Not surprise why their revenues have tripled in the past few years.

Lets take this somewhere else.

Lets take this somewhere else.

I was back in KSA during the end of Ramadan. So not THAT long ago! I did bring a lot of things with me, gifts, MONEY (LOL) but I forgot the coffee.:(

Anyway I obviously have not frequented all those Arab grocery stores (in one famous neighborhood here in Denmark called "Noerrebro") there are probably 50 Arab shops or something overall. I have not been to all of them obviously let alone all of Copenhagen. There is a Moroccan delicacy shop that I am yet to visit and they might have it. Otherwise as you say I can always take a plane to Paris or just buy it from the internet.:)

Anyway that neighborhood is close to where I live.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nørrebro

Yes, indeed that's a risk but I usually sleep without problems even after a great intake of caffeine.

Man, nothing like Badawi coffee. Or all those coffee shops/houses in KSA.

Tell me about it. This goes for all games. Backgammon, chess etc. I know that site. One of my two elder brother's plays there often or at least did when we were younger.

I know this. It's just that we are impatient. At least us that have been abroad for a long time. When we go back we want to take the good things with us. Not all are ready for that. What I believe is crucial is for people to have a more direct participation. If you know what I mean. As you say economy is the crucial thing for stability and until now it has only been a one-way development. Going up and up which is awesome.

Yes, we should move the discussion to the "Arabic coffee shop" thread.

Haha, yes I was really surprised. Everyone knew it despite them not being from KSA.:D
