they look like m1a2 Abrahams, and if they perform like them they won't be walking coffins like the T-55/62/72/90.

we don't even know good Armata is? and I'm willing to bet they'll blow up just as easily as past soviet design tanks, maybe not as catastrophically though since they learned to separate the ammo from the rest of the tank

VT-4 looks more similar to Leopard 2 than Armata. But leoperd is a Kick Ars machine, pretty hard to match.

Yeah I believe It's called Democracy although your right . But in 2014 a delegation from armoured corps did go to russia to witness the performance of t90MS.

T-90 failed in many countries both Indians and Russians are also not to happy we would go for MBT-3000 and I would prefer Altay over Armata

Do you have any idea about the intricacies of an armour acquisition?

1. The Armata is a next generation tank that will not be operational until 2020 and will require another decade to perfect.
2. We will need to set up a separate production and overhaul facility for Armata whereas our existing lines are already compatible with Chinese systems including the VT-4 which is heavily based on the MBT-2000 design.
3. Russia has expressed NO interest in marketing this platform for export.
4. Your criticism of the VT-4 is based on your opinion alone and not on any facts.
5. VT-4 has not finalized as yet.
6. The Armata will not be a sanction proof platform.
7. The Russians will not give us any platform that the Indians are not comfortable with us having access to, the export potential for Indian far outweighs what they can make with Pakistan.

8. There is a massive price gap between the VT-4 and the expected price of the Armata.

Why would the armata blow up? Its crew layout is by far safer than any other tank, everyone is isolated in the safest part of the tank--the front glacis which is then sealed off from the rest of the tank. Meaning any breach or detonation anywhere in the tank besides the crew compartment will insure the crew survives where as if the Abrams is penetrated the crew is not so lucky. BTW i would not laugh at the T-72, google destroyed Abrams and you will see dozens of images of the Abrams completely destroyed.


In terms of protection look at the hatch thickness of the Abrams and compare to Armata. (the thick area of the Abrams hatch are just vision blocks)

we should go for vt-4 or altay. or have a joint venture with any other partner for some heavy category MBTs rather than just 47 or 50 ton etc. which can easily face any MBT in the world especially when come across Arjun mk2 1 on 1 so can handle those indian tanks with ease
