Girls thrive in single sex schools because they do not have to impress boys, head says

No seriously that was the best time , i remember another incident when i was a kid i challenged a boy for eating something which nearly killed him and i was like looking for a great escape somehow, lolz that was scary day. thank God he was alright after some treatment.

Pls tell me who discovered genetics?

Sure took them a while:

Now British scientists have an explanation: Males are required for a process known as "sexual selection" which helps species to ward off disease and avoid extinction.

But in research published in the journal Nature on Monday, they found that sexual selection, in which males compete to be chose by females for reproduction, improves the gene pool and boosts population health, helping explain why males are important.

I think I was thought this when I took animal behaviour class...Whats new? :pop: need to get hands on that article to see what they "discovered"

Now I see why it got into Nature...long term experiments for long term causes and effect are hard to study:

In their study, Gage's team evolved Tribolium flour beetles over 10 years under controlled laboratory conditions, where the only difference between populations was the intensity of sexual selection during each adult reproductive stage.

The strength of sexual selection ranged from intense competition -- where 90 males competed for only 10 females -- through to the complete absence of sexual selection, with monogamous pairings in which females had no choice and males no competition.

After seven years of reproduction, representing about 50 generations, the scientists found that populations where there had been strong sexual selection were fitter and more resilient to extinction in the face of inbreeding.

Can someone tell the Rhiannon Wilkinson not every thing can be thought in school.
Nature has it way to teach. Boys and girls need to interact to understand the opposite sex, life is not whats written in books, one has to learn his/her way. Cutting of the interactions between opposite sex leads to what we see inferiority complex and then we see social violence against females generally.

I didnt discover genetics ...Wish I had...would have twisted the existence of male enough for them to doubt their own existence :woot:

I thought women are the one who originated from tehri pasli of a man :azn:

This is not the only reason, schools like these, all girls or all boys tend to be better off as it is, their parents established middle and upper class. They come from well to do backgrounds and they pay extortionate amounts of money on fees. The standard of teaching is higher, the discipline standards are higher.

Take a look at the school this headteacher is speaking from:

Fees per year: £11,900 :drag:
That's more than the cost of University tuition fees.

Please don't go comparing this to your average, underfunded, overpopulated, state run, inner city school.
No sane comparison can be had.

And I have seen these private schools up close, they some universities in the UK look like homeless shelters.
Seriously, go to one of the few in London, get a taste of what it would be like if you had the title of 'Lord', earned 6-7 figures minimum, and sent your kids there.

Anyway, with that said, it is true that schoolgirls in the UK and British females in general seem to spend unholy amounts of time and effort on their looks, appearances, social contact, and having no boys around must help. But let's not kid ourselves, look at the elephant in the room.

as boris will say .. 'good point'. :)
but is peer pressure too much on girls to be better looking (compared to boys).. also I read somewhere girls take more humanities and less science/tech/maths class in co-ed than single school(nobody likes geeky girl I guess).
