Correct . Kashmiris are people from the Kashmir valley.
People from Azad Kashmir are not Kashmiris, They are similar to Punjabis and Jammuites. The name itself is incorrect .
There is nothing ethnically, or racially classed as Indian, nor Pakistani. Since Indian Punjabis share a cultural similarity with those in the bigger Pakistani Punjab, I guess they should secede to Pakistani Punjab? Or -- and I'm sure I'll receive a lot of flak from Pakistanis for this -- if 60% of Pakistanis are Punjabis, then how are Pakistani Pushtuns Pakistani?
The name 'Kashmir' derives from the name of the primary ethnic group in the valley -- 'Kashurs' -- India's name derives from the river Indus, in Northern Pakistan; so by that account, I guess only Northern Indians are truly Indian, no?
Is it possible to be Kashmiri and Punjabi both? How ?
How can one by Punjabi and Indian? I guess, by your logic, since people in Arunchal Pradesh have oriental facial features, they're Chinese? Oh wait, doesn't India pride itself on secularism -- that all are 'Indian' regardless of ethnicity, class or colour of skin? The great hypocrisy.
If Armstrong identifies himself as a Kashmiri from Punjab, and as a Pakistani national; then that it is his choice, and I support him. It's not your place to question whether we are Kashmiri, Pakistani, Chinese, Indian, Martian or British -- Indian boots on the ground doesn't mean you can impose the boot in our minds.
