Therefore I say, let India take over. Let India conduct arrests and interrogations. India has full capability to gather evidence which will nail the terrorists.

After all terrorism is a common enemy of both India and Pakistan, is it not?

Pakistan offered a joint investigation immediately after the Mumbai attacks, the GoI wasted months attacking Pakistan and trying to isolate it diplomatically and essentially destroying the bilateral relationship. If there was interest in cooperating then that was the time to have done it.

Given the poor relationship at this point in time, I would be surprised if Pakistan agrees to even a joint investigation if India decides to accept that offer.

As for India taking over the investigation in Pakistan, no. There is nothing to indicate that Indian investigators would be more successful than Pakistani investigators. While terrorism is a common enemy, security officials from a hostile nation cannot be given carte blanche in Pakistan under the guise of 'investigations', the two countries don't even allow tourists from the other to move around freely.

Were India and Pakistan to resolve their disputes, specifically Kashmir, this might be considered.

Its a futile arguement guys.. We are debating something which will end in an agreement to disagree if lucky, else a closed thread.. Its foolish to expect that a pakistani member would agree that Pakistan is actively or inactively supporting terrorism against India because they believe what their govt tells them. Even if they dont, this is not something someone will agree to..

In the same way an Indian member will not budge from the stand that ISI and other Pakistani state agencies are supporting the groups like LeT against India because thats what we have heard from years..

Every arguement will have a counter arguement and every 5 second pause can have five hundred interpretations.. The trick is to get our own security systems organized to prevent events like 26/11 from happening and keep increasing the cost for Pakistan of supporting terrorism against India if such is the case..

The logic is simple.. If Pakistan is supporting terrorists as a state policy, it will not stop if India persuades US to make a statement. If Pakistan is not supporting terrorism against India, then anyway this posturing is counter productive.. So this whole drama of dossiers and complaining to Obama is useless at best and embarrasing at worst..
