Ghurids were Pashtuns

Niazaey was son of Ibrahim alias lodi. He had two other brothers, Siarnaey and Dotanaey. Sur or Suri was grandson of Siarnaey . So in lineage both belong to same family of tribes, the Lodhis. Ghilji was elder brother of Ibrahim lodi (progenitor of lodhis). Even if some one dont believe in accepted lineage tree of Pashtuns, historically Niazis , Surs and Ghilzais have considered each other as kinsmen and cousins. For example both Lodhis and Suris shared power mostly with their immediate Kin tribes. Niazi was the most prominent tribe in administration and army of Suri empire.

Thanks buddy, I haven't read since long and read a little in category, now gonna do starting from early. Came a long way from Ghazni to Multan with stops between most defining being Mianwali which still is 2nd home

His full name was Shiekh Hamid Lodhi and even the isameli author of the above article is not sure whether hamid was son of shayban. The author has taken passages from Ferishta but has omitted words Afghan from it. In original text it is written that Afghans of Laghman and Multan formed buffer state between Samanids and hindu shahis. Ferishta also mentions that Afghan garrisons of Shiekh hamid , who were under Hindu shahis, also constructed fort at the pass and named it khyber, thats why its called khyber pass. Not just encyclopedia of islam, Pakistan gazetteer, Punjab gazetteer and Multan gazetteer agrees with Afghan origin of Shiekh hamid Lodhi.

There are many question marks, for exemple it was part of Fatimed/arab dynasty and not Afghan as you said. And arab traveler al-Muqaddasi who visited Multan in year 985 didn't say anything about Afghans.

Indeed. But if a Pashtun can adopt shia faith , then why not Ismaeli faith at that time?. They were not Fatmids but had affiliated themselves to fatmid caliphate , Ghaznavi was under Abassi caliphate. Moreover Arabs had ruled Multan for three centuries so obviously it was heavily arabized city at that time. Shaikh hamid Lodi was a governor of hindu shahis, he couldnt have numerous Afghan followers. Laghman is in Afghanistan, why a Fatmid arab of independent Multan would be appointed as governor of that area by Hindu shahi Raja?, hamid switched to subagtagin side later. Yes langah is not Afghan tribe, but Lodhi is.

Those tribes are known, who are Pashtunized but are not part of lineage tree of Pashtuns. There is no Pashtun tribe which has dardic roots, but yea pashtunized people of dardic origin do live among Pashtuns in north. Also Kohistanis are dardic and they are neighbors to yusufzais. Chitralis are also dardic and they are neighbors to Dirojen Pashtuns. In Afghanistan dardic people of Nuristan are neighbor to Pashtuns. Keep in mind that the Khashi confederation of tribes (yusufzais, mohamnds, khalils, gagianis, jaduns etc) arrived in peshawer valley , bajaur and malakhand division in early 16th century........so they are neighbors to dardistan for only 5 centuries.

Prior to the Khashi tribes entering the areas you mentioned, who was actually residing their and what happened to them, were they assimilated or expelled.

Even here you forget to mention that it was Jailam Bin Shayban who founded Fatimid dynasty in Multan. When Al-Muqaddasi visited Multan in 985, Shayban was still king at that time. Hamid ruled from 986 to 997.

Al-Muqaddasi was famous traveler. While Ferishta wrote that in 500 years later. There has been confusion nothing more. Hamid ruled 986-997 and was most likely son of Shayban.

al-Biruni: (India, trad. Sachau, I, 116) " When the Qarmatians occupied Multan, Jalam (read Halam) Ibn Shaiban, the usurper, broke the idol into pieces and killed its priests. He converted its mansion which was a castle built on an elevated place into a mosque and ordered the old mosque to be closed down out of hatred for everything that had been build under the Umayyad caliphs."

There is nothing in historical sources that suggest Afghan lodi founded Fatimid dynasty in Multan. Also as now you know Hamid was not ruler of Laghman and Multan. There has been confusion nothing more.

The lingua franca of the Ghurid empire was definitely Persian and the Ghurid elite also seem to speak only Persian. Language is the most important cultural identity of an ethnicity.
The lingua franca of the present day Pashtuns of Afghanistan is still Persian and even the first language of large number of Pashtuns in Afghanistan. All such Pashtuns are called bilingual. So this fact doesn't make Pashtuns as Tajiks. They are still Pashtuns.

I need to know about the Niazi tribe. Are they purely pashtun people?
Also, the Khilji's, are they the descendants of Ghilji (elder brother of Ibrahim Lodhi)?
