Ghani’s call for India joining transit trade rejected

for A naval base of 43 bn dollar the sum is too much. They could have simply leased the base from Pakistan
i saw in a discussion posted here(pakistani channel) that the actual investment allocated for ports and road are less than 25 percent.. rest goes to other things like power generation(dont remember correctly) which is not strictly related to CPEC.

Those projects are related to CPEC because the new industrial/economic zones require energy for Chinese companies to relocate to Pakistan. There are four phases to CPEC and the entire project is meant to be completed by 2030. The $46 billion is focused on completing the first phase.

and what part of 46 billion will be spent on the port?

Banya will take anything, asking for 200% is budmashi
banya thinks long term business.. others will try to get rich in short term and cheat their customer given half a chance...

Currently the Chinese are going to invest $1 billion in Gwadar which includes the port, and its expected that further investment would be made when certain projects are completed.

Pakistan sho carry goods for india too from afghanistan, rather should be encouraged to sell them within pakistan. If they want the hindu trade then they r welcome to do that through iran.

ok.. thats what I was saying to @salarsikander the port itself does not need massive amount of investment.
Anyway, Its going to expensive for chinese to use that port commercially to haul goods over himalayas, so more likely its for strategic than commercial reason. Pakistan of course will benefit from it, no doubt.

China's future investment would actually be allocated to the city of Gwadar as a whole. In my opinion in the next decade, Gwadar will overtake Karachi as Pakistan's number one port city, job opportunities will be created for the local population. Once East Bay Expressway is completed then Gwadar will be linked to the rest of the country. Furthermore, Western China needs to develop and the closest port is Gwadar. China wants its Eastern population and industry to migrate to its western and central provinces. So the port will be commercially viable for the Chinese and even if Pakistan takes in 10% of the trade it's still good for us. Also there has been huge interests from Chinese companies to relocate to the different industrial zones, and one of them is in Gwadar.

Its not as simple as 1,2,3.
You se the port is just one aspect, along the belt numerous power plants will be setup to cater for future growth

Empty trucks from India making cost of Afghanistan dry food price higher in India main issue is Iran offer same price to but Iran has better dry fruit quality but Afghanistan has a edge if Pakistan support full trucks from India too

Issue remains same ghani you are nothing without Pakistan these Indians won't feed you longer

If india stops killing our brothers and sisters in Kashmir then pakistan will allow trade from Iran to India via pakistan's CPEC.

It seems Pakistan granted special route permit under UN law for land locked country. But Afghanistan wants to apply same law for India too. India and Afghanistan need to pay tax to use Pakistani roads. Plus, after Baluchistan issue, it seems govt of Pakistan view Ghani demand as security issue for Pakistan.Allowing Indian product export to Afghanistan will hurt Pakistani exporter to Afghanistan. Right now India has best option to keep product price low in Afghan market, a transit through Pakistan. Usually , dry fruit has less chance of getting expire. But, I think Afghanistan wants to import heavy construction material, wheat, rice, pulses etc from India.

Pakistan should allow trade between Afghanistan and India including gas pipelines, only if the Indians will pay some high tax. Because we are kind of broke.

let the indians trade with their ghanis.. but as transit fee charge 200% . pay the fee or no trade

:coffee:
smartest thing I have heard

Let the Indian wait the time when Pakistani & Chinese goods they will give tough competition in middle east and Europe markets when started to transport through CPEC then indian Economy will go down it will teach them good lesson how to fight with neighbors

Hypothetically , if tomorrow Iran joins CPEC and wants to trade with India through same Network of road, will you still reject it ??

Why would iran want to use Pakistan route to trade with india? Iran is establishing Chabahar which it can use for iran-india trade. If going by typical indian mentality of somehow wishing to manipulate Iran to do india's bidding; Iran is far smarter than these Afghans and has much more strategic independence than india can ever dream of.

It is just so obvious "chabahar" hype india tried to create not to be so. india had been cut off from Central Asia, that is physical truth and can NOT be altered by Chabahar or any other means. So indians are desperately trying to use their sick manipulative mind.
