Begs the question. Does Quran stipulate absolute need of mosque for society or is it suggested ....or left for individual to decide (strictly going by Quran only)?

Hmmmmmm.....though a commendable move. I must say this might cause more issues than otherwise. Since some islamic radicals or even normal conservative Islamists might use this to drive a wedge between other muslims who don adhere to what they believe is the real person of Islam. This might also encourage other islamic extremists to use this as another propaganda to show muslims how the West is trying to destroy real Islam by changing Islam according to western values etc.
So I'm not sure this is a good move, might cause more harm than good in the long run so the German government should look into this. Just my two cents.

Yes, Only Qur'an is the direct word of Allah almighty, and it's the only text whose authenticity is undisputed (among all Muslim Sects)

CDA rules strictly require every mosque to declare it's sect following before being granted permission to build the mosque ... Remember "The Al-Kitaab Foundation Trust" episode ?


As for our constitution, unfortunately, not only it recognizes sects, sectarian prejudice has been codified in our National Law. Discriminatory legislation erodes legal and social status of religious minorities.

Gays are allowed to pray even in "conservative" mosques (even though no liberal or conservative titles exist anywhere in Islamic world).

If a person engages in homosexual act, only then it's a grave sin. Just getting born with homosexual tendencies is not a sin under Islam.

Unless they plan to make out in Mosques, nobody would care for "gays" praying in Masjids.

99.999% of global Islam is what Islam has been since Prophets time and onwards i.e traditional Islamic theological foundations and practice based on classical and diverse interpretations of Quran, Hadith, and Sunna.

Islam isn't christianty or Judaism that got destroyed in their traditional sense, changed/cut down to size, "reformed" by modern secular cultural domination and are utterly irrelevant in modern world for the most part to their own followers (let alone on global scale)

Women can pray (separately) with men in a segregated setting. This has been the norm of Islamic world since 1400 years and has not changed one spec. Same goes for gays being allowed to pray in Mosques as normal Muslims.

All this rhetoric of flashy out of box "liberal mosque" is only for media consumption in the West. Nothing new. I remember the decade old "revolutionary" act of an American "woman" Imam leading the prayer of 20 people in her backyard somewhere and men/women praying in mixed setting. What happened? How many Mosques in America got influenced?

Guess how many Mosques in Islamic world even paid a slightest attention to that camera gimmick?

Thing is, even the Muslim women scholars of Islam throughout the word teach the actual/traditional Islam to their audience in classical form and don't bring any dumb wanna be Western feminism bullshit in their lessons.

You have no idea. Some of the mega women scholars of Islam are more conservative/kickass/straight-to-the-point than men scholars. I have seen their lectures and material. They give no shit, and tell you as it is (in Islam). And they have gigantic audience in middle and upper middle class womenfolk in Muslim countries like Pakistan etc.
