Germany to pull out from Incirlik air base as Turkey refuses access

Germany has no choice but to begin the process of pulling its forces out of Incirlik air force base in Turkey, Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said on Monday after his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu announced the Turkish government will not allow German lawmakers to visit troops there.

Turkey has prevented German lawmakers from visiting the roughly 250 troops stationed at Incirlik as part of the US-led coalition against Daesh, saying that Berlin needs to improve its attitude first.

Turkey will maintain a ban on visits by German politicians to the key air base in its south which is used for raids against Daesh in Syria, Cavusoglu said on Monday at a joint press conference after a meeting with Gabriel in Ankara.

"At the moment a visit to the NATO base in Konya is possible, rather than Incirlik," Cavusoglu said.

GERMANY’S GABRIEL SAYS PROCESS OF MOVING OUT OF INCIRLIK WILL BEGIN, WANT TO DO THIS PEACEFULLY WITH TURKEY

Lol :D

Behave guys, there is no need to show the gloating side. All that needs to be said is we hope Germany can stop the double standard of "allowing" terrorist propoganda" and at the same time claiming to be fighting terrorists.

Truth be told as long as the PKK or PYD doesn't stage attacks in Europe the european countries are more than happy to pretend they don't exist, even in public television.

Why on earth they were in İncirlik in first place? İncirlik is our base, it is not NATO base. Yes, NATO countries give right for base usage to other NATO allies, but why did we even give right to Germany? US would make little sense since they are acting like a surpress power for blocking Russian influence.

But Germany? o_O They better fishing in North Sea, they have no business in Middle East, nor Mediterranean Sea.

Germany is part of NATO so you are contradicting yourself.

Turkey and NATO's marriage is on rocky grounds due to the Kurdish issue. This helps 1 particular country beginning with "I" ALOT IMO. Turkey is strong enough to be more independent on her regional priorities/objectives. This will get more weird.

Where did i say that Germany is not a part of NATO? o_O

There is no such thing as Kurdish issue, there is a PKK Terror Organisation. If you will keep try to deflect the importance of the war against Terrorism, you will be reported.
