2 videos recorded in a month, showing police officers kneeling on suspects' necks, likened to George Floyd

A video of a police officer in the city of Dusseldorf placing his knee on a young man's neck caused outrage in Germany, as many likened it to the case of George Floyd, a 46-year-old African American man who died on May 25 after a police officer similarly knelt on his neck.

The 15-second video last Saturday showed a police officer -- along with two other police officers standing by -- placing his knee on a suspect's neck as people at the scene shouted at the police to release him. Authorities said the incident of possible police misconduct was being investigated.

Meanwhile, a similar video was recorded in the city of Mulheim an der Ruhr on Aug. 8, with the victims being a Turkish son and father, who recently filed a complaint for being subjected to police violence.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, Fatma Gok said the police were called due to faulty parking. Gok said: "A truck has come to tow away the car. But my husband was trying to persuade them to leave the car, saying that he would pay the penalty. The driver said it was okay. But, meanwhile, two police officers were arguing with my two sons." Gok recounted that the officers laid her husband and one of her sons on the ground and placed their knees on their neck for almost ten minutes.

"Remembering the Goerge Floyd incident, I yelled at the police, saying 'you'll kill my son!'" Gok also thanked officials from the Turkish Consulate-General who had come to visit them after the incident.

"This kind of violence and treatment is unacceptable," she said on the incident, adding they had filed a complaint against the police officers.

. . . .
So it would be the best that turks leave Germany to save their lives, dont you think too?

I am sure you are one of those secret racists who says on social media "Black lives matter" then offers Turks to leave the Germany if they don't like it.

Like it or not, that 2 million Turkish-Germans are as equal citizen as you are. So better stfu since you have nothing to do about it.

It would be best if all like minded citizens of any country work together to peacefully and lawfully bring about the change they desire to see.

As such, Turkish-Germans should not 'leave Germany', but should work with other Germans to affect change within Germany.

This canard of 'leave the country if you don't like what's happening' is the same thing the right-wing in the US says to liberals/progressives in the US, because they know that in the long run the right-wing will likely lose (just look at who won the popular vote in the US by millions in the last few US Presidential elections).

.
Germany today is nothing but a collection of ppl from the world.
Demographic replacement will enrich Germany.

So "people from the world" suppress turks in Germany? Come on! Turks are loved by all!

So you say that the thread opener is wrong with his opening post and the suppression of turks in Germany through police brutallity does not happen? That would be fine.

But then me ask myself: Why did the thread opener let it looks like?

No, it would be best if Germans fixed their state institutions, so they do not become tyrannical, with no regard for human dignity.

Yes! That is what i wrote here over years! It is true that a lot of german laws are broken by the gov.

The thread opener references forceful police tactics that are increasingly being criticized around the world.

Your response was that Turkish-Germans should leave Germany, to which I responded that the citizens of a country should stay and work with other like minded citizens to bring about change, such as reforming police and/or police tactics.

So what should police do if they are under death threat by a greater group of people - what is happen but not shown in the cut 15 sec. vid (red shirt)?

How does kneeling on the neck of two people address the alleged threat from a greater group of people surrounding the police?

Wouldn't such tactics in fact potentially inflame the situation, especially future situations that are similar, where people 'surrounding the police' who have seen such videos are even more angry?

Police is a civilian institution that needs to build relationships with the community they serve and understand conflict deescalation rather than engage in actions that escalate conflict.

Did you see the George Floyd body cam footage? Interested to know your thoughts.
