Germs will be germs.
These stunts are necessary to get and maintain the attention of somewhat semi-literate and naive Muslims around the world, hey ,look how Islamic we are. Even white folks become Half- momin while visiting us :P

.
its the new manner, their new found confidence so they do it because they can do and those wannabe muslim states cant do anything because they want to live a good life with good cars and good money.. so if you love money then obey the kafira..

German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen refused to wear traditional Muslim attire over an official visit to Saudi Arabia last Wednesday.

“Of course, I respect the customs and customs of a country. I strive to comply with such rules. But for me there are limits to the way I adapt to the country,” German newspaper Bild quoted her as having said. “I do not put on a headscarf and I wear trousers,” the minister said.

Explaining her decision, she stressed that “Being able to choose your own clothes is a right for both men and women alike.” For this reason, she said, “It annoys me, when women travelling with women are pressured into wearing the abaya.”

Leyen’s diplomatic engagement with Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman al Saud was held to discuss the training of Saudi officers in the European Union. The Christian Democratic Union politician and her team were offered abayas by the German embassy in Riyadh when they arrived last Wednesday.

Iraqi pharmacist Hussam al-Mosawi tweeted that Leyen’s decision was “an insult to Saudi Arabia.”

However, her decision has caused very little controversy as it was not without precedent. United States First Lady Michelle Obama, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, former US Secretary of States Hillary Clinton, Condoleezza Rice and former US first lady Laura Bush have all done the same.

Time has come where these stupid demands of Saudi and Iran like nations are rejected.

As a visitor and one who has been invited to Saudi Arabia by the Authorities, she is not bound to wear what they want her to wear there. It's up to her to choose. If Authorities there are not okay with it then they should cancel her visa and stop her from visiting recording country. PERIOD.
Just like Muslims officials who come to the west for official visits with our authorities are allowed to wear what they want. There's no issue about this one.

However, if she was an immigrant in KSA or living there, then she is bound to follow the law of the country and dress accordingly. :)

What about her?

That photo was not taken in KSA. Besides those two are no longer married. Not sure what you are trying to say here?

However this is sufficient in KSA as long as modest Islamic clothing/clothing or abaya is worn.

Anyway if officials had a problem with her dress she would have been instructed to wear Islamic clothing (hijab or abaya or both) and if she still had refused to do so she would have been denied access into the country.

So once again media, mostly Western but not only, make a big deal out of nothing.

Not that we care. Anyway she looks like a man in that clothing. Germans and fashion.

Besides niqaq/abaya has never prevented women from achieving/doing anything that I can think of. A hilarious example.

She is many times cooler than many non-Niqab/Hijab/abaya girls in KSA/GCC/Arab world.

Besides Arabian girls/women prefer to hide their beauty which is world famous from outsiders especially non-related men which should be respected. We must protect the honor of our women at all times especially if they wish so.

dude its western hypocrisy

Westerners (and everyone else for that matter) must conform to the rules in KSA and they do so. However when high-ranking state officials are visiting they are only required to wear modest clothing and do not have to wear abaya/hijab if they do not wish so and if they do not intend to provoke.

For example Barack Obama's wife behavior was harshly criticized for proclaiming her intentions beforehand and that is why she got the cold shoulder including her moronic husband.

The case is not the same this time around. However if I was in power I would have forced her to wear an abaya or hijab. Screw their weapons that we can buy elsewhere or eventually produce ourselves. So I find it slightly annoying especially when we consider the rhetoric in Europe and various bans there. State officials or not. Under Faisal, she would have been told to do just that. No ifs but times are changing whether we like it or not....
