I would encourage all readers to listen to this Vlog by Moeed Pirzada and understand what has happened to Pakistan in the last 30years and how we have been brought to this stage. Apparentlydebt servicing and payback on loans and interest for next year is 36 billion $. How we are going to make that payment is anyone's guess. All we seem to be doing is taking more loans to pay old loans with no permanent solution to our problems. We had a loan of 12 billion during Musharraf's time and we were struggling to repay it. The loan was restructured and we got some breathing space but the elites continue to gobble up a major chunk of our resources while not paying any taxes. Now the loans exceed 115billion. Sooner or later we will default unless by some miracle we are able to avert this upcoming economic Tsunami. This in my view is more important than who rules the country at the moment.

What Nawaz didn't know about Musharraf, even I knew that. What was it ? That if Musharraf is rattled, he will get back at you. There are at least 2-3 members on this forum whose dad's has served in Musharraf's unit. Nawaz had a go at Musharraf, so Musharraf retaliated, he was known for that and he showed it.

All the media crap and conspiracy theories don't help in getting to know about Bajwa. No one knows what will happen tomorrow.

The only problem Pakistan has is that it still does not understand the fact that it is not exempt from basic economic principles that are universal.

When you say ‘it’ I dont think you mean people of Pakistan, as current events have clearly exposed that the reality is not different from past martial laws.

This in my view is more important than who rules the country at the moment.

I think if and how we are able to get out of this situation is very much related to who is ruling the country. Just as if we hadn't gotten Sharif Zardari lot after Musharraf left, and instead had gotten someone more concerned with Pakistan than personal gain, we wouldn't be in this mess.


Whether we get out of this situation or continue until we crash depends on who is in charge. If it's people who really are serious about getting Pakistan out of this than sure, if not then I suspect no amount of clever planning will work if the ones executing said planning are corrupt beyond reason.

I understand your point of view. I have repeatedly said we are willing to listen. But the clutter out of ISPR saying we are neutral does not make sense to anyone with half a functioning neuron. It has utterly failed to convince anyone including the veterans, journalists and joe public. The army has very much been part of the scene since 2018 if not earlier. Irrespective of the differences between IK and PA, they were specifically told the economy would not sustain a change. More than any other time in Pakistan's history the serving govtt needed a helping hand and the PA was in a position to do so. We know that the BAP and MQM dance to the tune of the establishment. Even if they could not have engineered a failure, they should have leant on the SC to declare another election and then allowed the parties to fight it out, installing a caretaker setup. Even in case of a change, the reputation of the country has suffered badly as its PM ,one CM, Interior minister have got serious cases against them. Could they not have installed a neutral caretaker setup?
I am more than 60 yrs of age, I have witnessed the 65 war, the 71 debacle, the 76 takeover and prior struggle of PDA to name a few things. A lot of what happened was hidden although it was still deplorable. So why have people not learnt their lessons when the society is so much more connected and someone with any modicum of intelligence would have seen the role of media in the Egyptian and the Turkish uprisings. How did the army expect to peddle a half baked nonsensical narrative against a young energetic opposition who now see what is happening.
I could ask more questions but I think the point is conveyed. We are seeing blatant and open violation of everything that is decent in Pakistan because the setup is totally incompetent and corrupt. Where is the establishment now? This talk of neutrality is like NERO sitting and watching Rome burn expressing I am neutral.
So answers are needed of the establishment and corrective action required. Once the dust is settled all the players need to answer to a court-as to what happened which led to this fiasco. I dont want-anyone to be punished but the truth must come out.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has advised military personnel to stay focused in their professional pursuits and keep abreast with changing nature of the threat, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

General Qamar expressed these remarks during a visit to Lahore Corps on Monday where he was briefed about the operational preparedness of the formation.

The army chief interacted with troops carrying out maintenance of defences and also witnessed small arms firing.
Speaking on the occasion, the COAS appreciated troops for their professionalism and high training standards. "Professional excellence and extensive training ensure effective response against all challenges."

Corps Commander Lieutenant General Muhammad Abdul Aziz accompanied General Qamar during the visit.
On March 1, the army chief visited a logistics installation and workshop in Rawalpindi. "The COAS visited various facilities and infrastructures of the workshop handling a vast range of specialised transport items for army," the ISPR said.

Gen Qamar was briefed regarding facilities being developed, graduation mechanism of vehicles and handling of central stores.
Earlier in February, while attending the ongoing war game of the Central Command in Kharian Garrison, General Qamar commended the innovativeness of military planners to cope up with mounting challenges and ensure impregnability of the country's defence.

The military's media wing said that the COAS also interacted with officers and appreciated their professionalism, operational readiness and commitment to defend the motherland in the face of conventional and non-conventional threats.
"The COAS also praised them for their high morale and indomitable spirit," the ISPR added.

The tendency to live beyond our means expanding our expenditures on borrowed money, unrealistic projections and most importantly lack of persistent focused attention to basic principles and hard work. We lack patience and expect things to improve overnight. When IK came he made the most stupidist of claim of sorting things out in 90 days. It was blatantly obvious we were not going anywhere for at least 3-5 years. As a nation we need to rely on consistency, hard work. Opportunities have come a begging but we have not learnt anything from them.
A blast from the past. In the 50s we had trade surplus and wanted to set up steel industry. The Germans advised us to put up 3-4 smaller units so employment and wealth generation is-uniformly distributed. We contemplated and then blew all the cash away on importing cars from the US. Do you think he was neutral or he actually abetted the whole operation?

Prison vans did not just show up by chance. Or the rumors of imminent sacking of COAS, DG ISI. Or how Bajwa's ego was hurt when Imran Khan did not readily approve his selected DG ISI. Or who was Donald Lu's letter actually directed to. Or the day after Donald Lu's letter, he came out with a statement condemning Russia's invasion. Or the DG ISPR's press conference that Stock Exchange is up and Rupees is stable. Or his meeting with retired army personnel talking about Imran Khan's bad attitude with his own party members. Or was Bajwa oblivious to the fact that US officials kept meeting PDM and bribed them.
