Gaza-Israel Conflict | October 2023

.
This is just my opinion? At the beginning of the year when people of Israel were marching against Netanyahu's attempt to curb the democracy in his own country it was obvious that only thing that could save his filthy political career is an outside enemy to rally against. Yes, his coalition allowed further expansions of settlements against all previous agreements, but this attack from Hamas is completely unnecessary and now Gaza will be hit. Stop this once and for all, Israel and Palestine deserve to live in 2 state solutions.
Netanyahu might have wished for an external enemy to appear to save political carrer, but this is not his doing.

Now, no matter how many Palestinian, Israel kills, no one will care. Not that they cared much before, but this is not gonna end well for Palestinians.

.
as Muslims "We" means we are all united and have the same cause

one Muslim is occupied we are all occupied

not like Western nations who kill each other for fun like you are doing in Ukraine

even killing 100 million of each other in 2 World Wars

So what are you going to do, apart from posting on a forum? Nothing right? Good job Mr cheerleader.

Ah the unified Muslim ummah right?

. . . .
Payback will be swift and 100x massive... rest assured.
Then what after that? Israel’s current main interest (outside of restoring the reputation of their fortress mindset domestically) is political normalization with the region.

Large alienated Arab populations during these Israeli-Palestinian episodes are concerns for Arab regimes and play into the hands of the Iranians.

Iranians (and region) are also observing India’s shift to sideline Iran (especially after the IMEE corridor) and cheering the deaths of Palestinians.

Footage and social media posts, that is sure to be shared with all Arab and Muslim populations (especially when coupled with reports of the actions of the Hindutuva minded Indians in the diaspora in the GCC and the West) will painting a clear picture of the trend a growing number of Indians are going.

Interesting rank “Academic officer”. What do you suppose their responsibilities entail. Perhaps observers for think tanks?
Officers who want to advance to Major rank need to have an academic degree.

Also, there are academic officers (Actual rank), these are soldiers who did an academic degree prior to their actual conscription (They come for one day, get processed into the army, sign a delay to their service and go to the university.

Those who, at the end , enlist as academic officer are “rushed” into regular officer course (They still have to past the pre-course tests).

On the one hand, if you’re a good student and want to go to college, and your field of study interests the IDF, then the IDF will be happy to defer most of your service till you’ve graduated. You’ll do only a little service during the academic year and upon graduation you’ll be fast-tracked to an officer’s commission. Then as part of the bargain you’ll serve a couple of extra years.

On the other hand, if you enter the army without a college degree and the army believes you have a brain that it can benefit from cultivating in a particular direction for a particular purpose, the army will educate you by itself and/or sponsor your education in a regular college.

This is already a massive win for Palestinian freedom fighters . They launched this attack knowing full well they would lose militarily because they are massively outnumbered and outgunned.. However, they have caused Israeli intelligence and military enormous embarrassment that cannot be undone What is more, this has happened to the most militant Israeli government ever. Clearly, a hard line is no deterrent.

Thanks! I stand corrected though i was listening to a video and someone made a comparison that why PA needs so many generals and then compared it with Israeli army.
The exact numbers of the IDF personnel are classified, but we can estimate this number from the number of billets in the command structure. That information is publicly available.

So, the first rank is easy: only one person has the rank of lieutenant-general (rav-aluf) in the IDF — the Chief of General Staff.

Next, we have the major-generals:

  • 1 Deputy Chief of General Staff
  • 3 arms commanders (Ground Forces, Air and Space Arm, and the Navy)
  • 4 regional Commands’ commanders (Northern, Central, Southern, and Home Front Commands).
  • 6 Chiefs of General Staff’s Directorates (Operations, Planning, Intelligence, Manpower, C4I, Strategy)
  • 1 commander of the Depth Command
  • 3 heads of commands subordinated to the Ground Forces (Training Command, Technology and Logistics Command, Maneuvering Complex)
  • 1 President of the Military Courts
  • 1 Chief Military Advocate General
  • 1 commander of the Military Colleges
  • 1 Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories
  • 1 military secretary of the Prime Minister
  • 1 military attaché of the IDF in Washington DC
— 24 in total.

Then, counting the brigadier-generals is going to be the most tedious:

  • 4 in the General Staff’s Operations Directorate (heads of Operations and Doctrine and Instruction divisions, the IDF spokesperson, head of The Dado Center for Interdisciplinary Military Studies)
  • 2 in the General Staff’s Planning Directorate (heads of Planning and Future Combat Methods divisions)
  • 7 in the Intelligence Directorate (heads of Operations, Research, and Special Operations divisions; Chief Officer of the Intelligence Corps; commanders of 8200 and 9900 units; Chief Military Censor).
  • 10 in the Manpower Directorate (heads of Personnel, Planning, and Career divisions; Gender Affairs Advisor to the Chief of Staff; Chief Officers of the Human Resources Corps, the Military Police Corps, the Education and Youth Corps, and the General Corps; Chief Military Rabbi; Chief Reserve Officer).
  • 4 in the C4I and Cyber Defense Directorate (Chief Officer of the C4I Corps, head of Cyber Defense division, head of the Digital Transformation administration, commander of the Lotem unit).
  • 2 in the Strategy Directorate (heads of Strategy and International Cooperation divisions).
  • 4 regional Commands’ chiefs of staff
  • 11 division commanders
  • 11 in the Ground Forces command (chief of staff, heads of Manpower and Combined Arms Strike divisions, commander of Indoctrination Center and Instruction Division, commander of the Company and Battalion Commanders’ Courses; Chief Officers of the Infantry Corps, the Armored Corps, the Artillery Corps, the Engineering Corps and the Border Protection Corps; commander of the National Ground Training Center).
  • 6 in the Technology and Logistics directorate (heads of Ground Technology and Logistics divisions, commander of the Unified Supply Center, Chief Officers of the Logistics Corps, the Ordnance Corps, and the Medical Corps)
  • 14 in the Air and Space Arm (8 group commanders, 5 commanders of air bases, commander of the Air Defense division,
  • 5 in the Navy (4 division commanders, commander of the Haifa Naval Base)
  • 2 in COGAT (deputy coordinator, head of the Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria)
  • The Depth Command is very secretive about its structure, but since it’s headed by a general-major, let’s assume it has one brigadier-general as the chief of staff.
  • 1 Deputy President of the Military Courts
  • 1 Financial Advisor to the Chief of Staff
  • 2 military attachés of the IDF (air attaché in Washington, military attaché in Singapore)
  • 1 military secretary of the President
  • 1 military secretary of the Defense Minister
— 89 in total, if I didn’t miss anyone out.

So in total, the overall count is 114.

It’s important to know, that the organizational structure is shifting over the years, and the number of people manning the billets changes accordingly.

I want them to both co-exist. I want Palestine to prosper. But with Hamas, they will not prosper, they will become one of those small "Islamic Emirates" in a Taliban style State.

Israelis have caused a lot of pain and misery to the Palestinian people. Many of them are arrogant, annoying, selfish and extremely xenophobic. But a lot of them are good, kind, charismatic people who just want peace or the right to have a country.

Same with Palestinians. Many are smart, progressive, peaceful people. Take for example Ayat Achra's parents. The father was more moderate and wanted peace. He thought that with suicide bombings and violence, there are no winners.
Her mother was the opposite. She thought they would eventually win, this way.

What I saw today, was something out of a nightmare. A nightmare for Israelis and something that will become a nightmare for thousands of Palestinians who knew nothing about it.
They no ask your opinion what you so conceited about this standardise moral ethic, you are a nobody talk for that matter you are a defender of every terror state and can't even stop supporting dictator in Syria and apologize on behalf of Arab Authoritarian and Iran
