If there is even an iota of truth in that they I don't know why Russia will be silent on the opportunity given to it by the Palestinians/Iranians in the latest conflict.
Russia maybe a greatly reduced military power but is one of the mightiest nuclear powers and a highly provisioned Intelligence gathering power.
And the Ukraine war has really pushed Putin to such a corner that he may do things which have may have resisted for a long time in the Middle East.

If you look at Ukraine war, Usa, Europe are openly funding and giving weapons to Ukraine but none of Russia ally dares to support it. China is a close ally but still will not officially support Russia. Just shows the power of Usa and allies. Against Israel noone dares to back Palestinians with funds and weapons. If Israel is in trouble Usa will join the war on behalf for Israel. Israel is their daddy.
