Gautam Gambhir wants India to ban Pakistanis from all industries

NEW DELHI: Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has said that India should ban Pakistanis from all industries, including music and film industries instead of just focusing on ending cricketing ties between the two countries.

"Merely boycotting cricketing ties with Pakistan will not help. If a ban is imposed, it should be in all sectors, be it films, music or any other. Nobody from Pakistan should be provided an opportunity to perform in India unless the relations between the two neighbours improve," he said while talking to ANI news agency .

He called on Indian government to take more stringent measures against Pakistan.

"In the recent past, we have initiated talks with Pakistan on many occasions, but no substantial outcome has been achieved. Every country has its own level of patience and importance. First thing, of course, is to talk; but if that doesn't work, one has to take strict action. There is no point in politicising the matter," he was quoted as saying.

It is obviously response to Afridi and Hasan Ali. Moreover what is shamelessness in playing in ICC events. It is mandatory under ICC rules. So playing in ICC events is necessary. Further everyone knows that next Champions Trophy was due to be played in India and on India request, the Champions Trophy was changed to World T20 cricket tournament. Now Champion's Trophy is gone forever. Only world cup tournament in four years and world T20 tournament in two years.

Are we shameless to not to play with Pakistan or it is ok to mix sports with politics? My opinion is we should not play with Pakistan. So Indian Government and BCCI is following public sentiment.

I am hundred percent in agreement with you on this suggestion. I too want all diplomatic relations disconnected with Pakistan. We Indians already got Iran Chabahar port for Afghanistan. So presently there is no utility remaining of Pakistan for India. In terms of trade relations, obviously Pakistan never gave MFN status to India, so now we don't worry about trade with Pakistan. So again on topic we should not play cricket with Pakistan as Gautam Gambhir said.
