Tehran has now the longest highway system in all ME, North Africa and Central Asia if I'm not mistaken. But it's still not enough for all these cars.

That Iran in general has a crappy infrastructure, you say you're Bakhtiari, and more importantly a Khuzestani, have a brief travel to Khuzestan region to understand depth of misery. Iran does not consist of only Tehran.

I never said I'm a Bakhtiari.

My parents are from Khuzestan, and I myself was born in Bushehr.

No need to travel there, I have lived in Ahwaz for years and visited most parts of the province. I do agree with you about the situation in Khuzestan and it's very very sad. Some other cities and provinces besides Tehran have a better situation compared to Khuzestan. If I had a responsibility to build something in this country, Khuzestan is always my first priority.

And Yes, Iran is not only Tehran. Everyone saying otherwise or acting like it is an idiot.

Compared to Pakistan, Iran is heaven. But my standards are a lot higher, which is why I was surprised to see a half descent highway. But that's just one. Isfahan's was good the last time I was there. Shiraz was a joke (don't know how it is now). In most of the country, what they call a highway or a freeway is a joke.

Why bring Pakistan into this? Pakistan doesn't have the massive amounts of natural resources that Iran has.

Your perception about Pakistan is wrong I believe, like many other people in the world. Pakistan too has many decent places, roads, scenery and other things.

About Tehran, you are wrong again. There are many highways in Tehran and the one you saw is the longest one. Tehran has nearly 30 highways and honestly, most of them are decent.
You should visit Tehran another time if you haven't visited since 2007.

Shiraz just has Chamran highway nothing else ... Subway is under construction but not yet operatioanl + decent bus system.
Tehran really has changed but it needs more, subway is getting better everyday plus bus system ...

And akhoonds have been building that subway for the past 9000 years. Give it to any general contractor here with no public transport experience and no idea what they're doing and they'll still manage to get it right and deliver a product within a couple of years. Too busy training arabs and funding terrorists to focus on Iran I guess.

you are right about shiraz but i can see some small signs of change these 2 years .when did you visit last time? by the way these are not enough and it's still a mess .maybe because of small budget. only 800m $ while tehran get 7 times more and isfahan gets 3 times more.
