Bharatiya Janata Party president Nitin Gadkari sees Israel as a role model to resolve problems faced by India and to emerge as a leader in multiple fields.
Recent visit
Addressing the party's national executive meeting here, he referred to his recent visit to Israel and was ecstatic about the achievements made by that country.
“We need a similar nationalist, self-reliant, development-oriented and innovation-propelled approach in solving India's problems,” he said.
“Israel is a tiny nation with less than half of Mumbai's population and faces a constant security threat from its neighbours,” he noted.
“And yet, the government and the people of Israel have developed self-reliant solutions to meet the entire population's needs of water, energy, food, education and healthcare. They have indeed made Israel a world leader in science, technology and innovation,” he said.

Not only main opposition party in India but most Indians see Israel/Israelis as role model for progress/growth..

Jews I have met/worked with, believe me are damn sharp people and the ones you would be pleased to work with .. Damn they even rule/control/run the whole American financial market.. They only deserve respect for all their achievements

Yup.. Indian Hindus feel Israel nothing less than their blood brother but Israel as role model..? may be in "self reliance" only but even that "self-reliance" in overly supported by USA through tax money of people of America. So it is not that self reliant as much you are trying to see it.

hmmm - israel is regarded as a jewish supremacist state, that treats other people (not just arabs) as sub human, a aggressive marauding mad man of the middle east.

i can see why india wants to be like them, it makes them feel strong and like conquerors, but they simply couldnt pull it off, also i think too many indians have too much of a conscience.
