Last summer we lost a C-130H, and as "the show must go on", the C-295M fleet had to be pushed to the limit. We have 12 C-295M, of these 5 are the VIMAR (including 2 with extra Foto Recon equipment) version also known as "Persuader". Its very economic to operate and if you think that every time you fly a C-130H at 50% of its range (C-295M has 3900km range) or cargo (C-295M can carry 9250kg, 68 men or 45 paratroopers) its very useful.

All 12 aircraft can do Transport and SAR.
The VIMAR have IR Star Safire IV , radar EL/M-2022A(V)3, SLAR (Side Looking Airborne Radar) ERICSSON ,
