Really?
The jet engine, the universal language - English, radio ranging and acquisition, the telephone, television, the light bulb, the bicycle, the electric motor, the battle tank and jet fighter aircraft, aircraft carrier too.
Composite armors, safety fuses, the Electrocardiograph, Penicillin, the Smallpox vaccine, stainless steel, the hydraulic press, modern economic principles, the microwave, gas turbines, wind tunnels, weather maps, VTOL, heads-up-displays, hydrophones - and by association, sonar, the chocolate bar.
I can go on, the British have contributed a lot to our modern world. Certainly a lot more than colonialism.
Pretty damn good for such an "insignificant" little island.
