There was not a political entity called India when the British invaded. There were Sihk empires, Maratha empire, Mysore kingdom, etc. these were political entities unto themselves. India never develop a political entity or a country, kingdom or empire called India until the British arrived.

Sanskrit is only as old as the old Iranians as both language were derived from the same parent. And Sanskrit was brought into India. The native Indian language is the Dravidian language of southern India. The aryan invader gave India Hinduism and the caste system.
