The construction of China’s second domestically built large cruise ship kicked off Monday in east China's Shanghai. The 341-meter-long and 37.2-meter-wide giant vessel has 2,144 passenger cabins and can sail at a maximum speed of 22.7 knots.

On July 20, the world's first intelligent unmanned mothership started construction in Guangzhou. The ship was built by CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Huangpu Wenchong), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, for the Southern Ocean Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Zhuhai). This is the world’s first ship with remote control and with the function of autonomous navigation in open waters. It will be an unprecedented tool for China to carry out marine scientific research, build a maritime power, and improve social economy.

This unmanned system mothership with facing International frontiers of science and technology and national needs in mind, three concepts of "Future Sense", "Unmanned System Guarantee" and "Green Intelligence" are implemented in the design. The ship’s important equipment are equipped with a high localization rate. The power system, propulsion system, intelligent system, and survey operation support system are all made in China, their core technology independent and controllable. China on Thursday delivered the world’s first seaborne drone carrier, the Zhu Hai Yun, capable of operating on its own. The first domestic large cruise ship Adora Magic City built by CSSC will be delivered and undock from Shanghai soon. It has a tonnage of 135,500 tonnes with 2,125 guestrooms that can hold over 5,000 passengers. The dock started discharging water from June 1st for 6 days.

During undocking, Adora Magic City will float, move and undock. Tilt test, side port hose test, life boat unhooking and cruise test will be finished based on the positionof the ship, so as to verify the center of gravity of the ship, the functions of life boat and side port.
