From ghar wapsi to PK 'protests': Hindutva mob violence is also terrorism

I watched this movie few hours are back and given my POV in this very thread.

Never understood how people can get so upset about movies....

Tells me much about their insecurities

Kamal Hasan Made a Movie: Vishwaroopam. That movie was banned in India on similar ground and was forced to apologize to. His work was not considered as Artistic Expression. Duplicity - Here lies the problem. May be the people who had problem with his movie can tell better about Insecurities.

No comparison. Only good for nothing jobless goons and a few who behave as if they were the thekedar of Hinduism have opposed PK and they actually ended up promoting the movie indirectly. They could not stop the screening anywhere, so basically there were left with eggs on their faces. Common people of all faith have watched the movie and most loved it.

Personally I watched it. It is not a great movie but quite enjoyable for the most part and I did not see anything that should offend anyone.

It's better than the crap movies which release every Friday. I can understand that the Hindutvadi in you would not let you like this movie.
:) Not only that. I believe the experience was deliberately titillating. I have seen better movies with a anti Dhongi baba message. I did not really like Vishwaroopam either - except for Rahul Bose's acting.

Watch 'Water' - its highly critical of Hinduism but very apt. Amir Khan is capable of featuring in better films. After Taare Zameen Par, Rang de Basanti etc, expectations get high. :)

Thank you for generalizing.

I ain't know why you think so. I'm not a Bollywood Movies buff & see it once in a blue moon. I can't comment about other movies giving anti Baba's message other than OMG, as I've not seen any. Neither has seen Visharoopam. I came to know about it, last night while I Google for the reasons for Protest for PK.

Sure, I'll watch it. I believe criticism of Baba's were apt in PK too & one should appreciate Positive Criticism. I hate these dimwits. RDB is my favourite Hindi Movie till date and I agree, PK is not in it's league. :o:

I don't have very high opinions of people taking the law into their hands and vandalizing theaters to stop a movie that has been cleared by the censor board. If anyone had any objection they should follow the proper procedure.

Haven't seen it myself but I heard it was more like Oh My God (only difference was in OMG, movie talks about hypocrisy of all religion but this one only focus on Hindus) But things are being out of proportion no doubt, These groups don't know how to protest against such things without vandalizing. Gives a bad name to all Hindus.

And also in that OMG, God himself comes and explains the protagonist about the hypocrisy. But my children liked it, though they said OMG was better than this. It is a bigger hit because of star value.

:)

The Baba scenes were not the ones I had problem with. Direct points like the dhongi baba is a reflection of reality to an extent. The more subtle references were in bad taste.

In any case, I don't want any movie banned. But the right to watch is as valuable as not to watch or even the right to feel bad. :)

The censor board is one of the lone pillars of secularism in India. I appreciate that.
How many theaters burnt down or people killed btw? :(
