Fresh infiltration bid foiled in J&K, two terrorist Killed

Thwarting a fresh infiltration bid by the terrorists from across the border in Kupwara, the alert security forces succeeded in gunning down two more terrorists in a fierce gun battle on Wednesday morning.


In this operation two of Indian soldiers were also been injured

Giving this information, a defence official said that the terrorist on Wednesday morning made a futile bid in Nowgam area to infiltrate in to the Indian territory. “The alert security personnel spotted the movement of a group of terrorist and on being challenged, they started indiscriminate firing. This was retaliated to by the Indian forces and in the ensuing gunfight which is still on, two terrorists were killed,” said an official.

He said that with the gunning down of two terrorists, a total of five infiltrators have been killed in two days.

Reminding of Tuesday encounter, the official said that yesterday also three terrorists were killed.

In this operation two of Indian soldiers were also been injured.

However, till last reports last came in, the operation was on in the area, added the official.
