Frequent droughts made Tamil people innovative

@rockstarIN

South Indians especially Tamils are way more progressive than North Indians for sure - From Nobel Laureates to Classical Artists and from ISRO/DRDO/HAL Chiefs to Chess Grand masters in the country - Tamil Nadu dominates in STEM and it's various fields -
  • Importance of Education: In many communities in TN, there is a vey high importance accorded for education. Education trumps everything. For instance, when it comes to marriages most Tamil parents would choose a highly educated middle class guy for their daughter, ceteris paribus, than a less educated super wealthy guy .
  • Presence of Madras: Madras has been a major center of education in British India for centuries. Having Madras was/is a big advantage for the Tamils. It was a presidency capital like Bombay and Calcutta. But, while Calcutta suffered from many other things [such as disturbance around freedom movement & partition riots] Madras grew practically undisturbed in 350 years. While Bombay was built on commerce, Madras tried to grow its strength on education.
  • Education reach: For many decades, there was a strong effort to spread the fruits of education to all communities. This produced a large pool educated people.
  • Networks: Raghuram Rajan (RBI Governor) & Aravind Subramaniam (Chief Economic Adviser) are long time friends who went to the same institutes [IIMA]. They knew each other's strength well. Thus, Rajan was able to pull his old buddy into this new role. Success/intelligence depends a lot on networks.
  • Role models: Having role models does help a lot too. Once some members of your region get ahead, others get inspired. Chandrashekar grew with his uncle Raman as inspiration. Viswanathan Anand, Venkataraman Ramakrishnan, Srinivasa Ramnujan all come from very close Kaveri river towns of Mayiladuthurai, Chidamabaram and Kumbakonam
Abey agar natural talent nahi ho tou education, good jobs, political stability etc se kuchh farak nahi padega, kuchh faayda nahi hoga. Aur woh natural talent aya biological evolution through droughts se. Don't go off-topic.

Tamilians are one of the most gifted communities in the world. Tamilians are very inventive people. There are many innovative people in Tamil Nadu but they had to pay a heavy price in the form of droughts. Frequent droughts made Tamilians innovative. Only people with certain qualities can survive conditions of drought. As more droughts occur those qualities intensify. Drought-induced-evolution defines the Tamil intelligence. Over umpteen generations droughts moulded and chiseled the Tamil mind into what it is. It was Darwin's law at work.

Lol then Arabs in the Middle East and Africans would have been super intelligence capability.

You should spend sometime in PDF then you can avoid such useless threads.

:what:

:unsure: what chapati biryani you make from wheat flour :unsure: Do you mould your mutton from the flour?
@eyeswideshut

You guys like cooking, talk to me :D

Actually there is a relation between a type of biryani and flour. In this preparation you use earthen pots to prepare the biryani and you use dough to seal it, so that no vapours escape. Expert chefs say, this captures the aroma of all the spices in the biryani :) :)

@Bharat Muslim Bhai, what is this going on ? :P

Advanced Science..err so they call it(which cannot be explained in simple rational way). Batter..fly is his distant cousin8-).
Butterfly effect - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I know the butterfly effect but nothing to do with biryani there :rofl: esp not made from wheat flour

he meant when you knead the flour with your hands it causes small ripples in air that get amplified to big rains that promote growth of grass. So when goat eats it you kill goat and make mutton biryani.......:D
:rofl: DAMN the level of trolling!

What is this? Feel good, my race better than others article Bul*shit?

:) I dont know the details but during my visit to India I visited few temples in TN and one thing I noticed there was a brass bowl type pot placed so high on a structure. I was curious to know about its usage as I personally was feeling it could NOT be part of any religious ritual so it must be having some other logic behind it. I found out that It was used to be a storage pot for many grain seeds which they used to use for cultivation later after the drought ends.

I think such innovative ideas the opening poster is talking about

Actually yes and no. They are made of special alloys and are for protecting the high tower structure or "Gopuras" from lightning, thunder.
The metal used, over a period of time, is said to have changed its nature , into a radioactive element, which the politicians of TN are said to be after (a speculation)

You are a Tamil, right ?

Yeah...!
