In any case, she was requested to abide by the law, which she did. The law enforcement agencies worked with restraint. Admirable.

But we can't really blame them, modern France was founded on the basis on ultra secularism and with the recent jihadist attacks on French soil, I believe secularist laws will only toughen and implemented without mercy.
