What's new

French girl strips atop sacred Uluru , sparks Australia wide outrage .

You obviously don't understand what the site is used for.

It certainly isn't used for "naked dancing" The aboriginals have a sacred dance that they perform in rituals and in these rituals they are wearing traditional dress which covers the private parts of your body and thats it.

It's utterly moronic for this girl to say "oh im dancing naked because aboriginals do it"

The reason people has taken offense

1. She isn't performing a ritual, she is just stripping off for the hell of it and dancing 2. She is not allowed to perform any ritual as she is not part of the aboriginal clan that owns the Uluru land.

Basically it would be the same as me walking into your house, getting naked and dancing around your house. That's how the everyone see's it here.
Ummm ok that makes sense... So she didn't even do the ritual dance? Was this "stripping" more like a strip tease?

Well i wont argue with you over this one as your flag shows you are currently residing in Australia, so definitely you have the first hand info however a couple of years ago a friend of mine who went to Australia on a student visa met me after a year he spent there and presented a very similar opinion to what ☪☪☪☪ have said.

Depends on you really , Aussies are very outspoken on all matters , they accept their mistakes and convincing them to the right point is easy as 123.

There is an element of Racism in Australia but lemme tell you it exists everywhere even in Pakistan in some form.

Maybe your fellow have had a bad experience or had difficulty with English language which ultimately leads to not understanding the aussie sense of humor which is quite funny but hard to understand.

People on the street just want to have a laugh and regardless of who you are people will come up say "G'day+ a wink" which creeps many Pakistanis out but you gotta learn and enjoy these things.

I have a large circle of friends including Aussies , Kiwis , Aboriginals and other Nationalities and most of the time i crack jokes about how stupid aussies sound while drinking a beer-they dont mind that but laugh it out like anything.

Its all a matter of understanding.

By trying to shut me up you have insulted my belief, as it is mandated by secular humanism and democratic pluralism, that free-speech is non-negotiable. Please refrain from insulting my beliefs... :frown:

Claiming that something is a statement of fact without any evidence whatsoever ('belief') does not deserve automatic respect, but scrutiny.

I have a certain amount of respect for peoples traditions, but an exploitative, mass-murdering, child-raping, Nazi-cooperating institution like the catholic church not only gets and deserves no respect it deserves contempt and more.
An individual catholic person is a different cup of tea.

If you can't see that than well.. I guess you are lost to put it mildly.

^ When you say that she should come to Vatican city to strip or she was lucky she was not on a mosque or she would have been dead - you are disrespecting Billions of people who chose to follow their beliefs.

I am not really into what you think as its just a waste of time to speak to a person like you with no respect and yet you want yourself to be respected.

* Here is a tip.

stop flamming in my thread or i will get someone from the Moderation team to deal with you.

I'm not flaming and respect needs to earned.

But I'm out of this cute thread.

Have fun with hysterical outrage over a girl dancing on a rock..

Amazing that the french could manage to find just about the only place in Australia that the Aussies would be upset about a girl getting her kit off.

That Rock matters to a community and its their country - but it does not matter to a detest like you does it ?

Respect is given to earn respect.

I actually was not aware that rock had any religious significance to australian natives - but kinda tacky for french girl to do that kinda stuff ...

She could have been in serous trouble for her actions

. . .
If she did that on hunuman temple even then i would have condemned it. Now dont tell me in that case you would have appreciated the action.

Freedom of expression with regard to religion should have some sanity.

Hey... werent you the one defending MF Hussain even though he had drawn nude and vulgar pictures of Hindu Goddesses!!?

. .
That French girl is OK. Nothin wrong with taking your clothes off on top of a big rock. I used to be a tour guide in Kakadu, trust me when I say EVERYTHING is sacred to the aboriginals. Not a bad thing tho, aboriginals are as much part of the environment as any animal is(well they used to be up until about 100 years ago anyway)tens of thousands of years of culture and tradition are not broken easily.
If french girls did strip at mosques and churches id start being religious tomorrow.
