Rafales went in only after Libyan air defences were mostly diabled by cruise missiles.

Other planes took part in strikes too like the Typhoon and Tornado, and French Mirages, so why does Rafale get all the glory?

No idea how they calculated $140 for Rafale, probably life cycle cost.

why the hell does UAE adn qatar need rafales....they already have F16 typhoons and F15's.....but they dont have any training area...they go to saudia to train@!!@!!~!

UAE under the breath sees Saudi domination as a threat to its existence and wants new fighters.Also if you see the trend of purchases, they also have a political aspect to it. they want to keep the french in their favour and the french have given them good service in the past. Qatar i dont know but i foresee the same sort of reasons.
