France refuses to budge on IAF specifications for Rafale

Just scrap the deal. Lets get on with alternative plan. Sign the extra PakFas. Talk to the EF consortium. If they are ready to agree to terms proceed, else, get the production line from the Americans for the Super Hornets. Cost escalation in terms of delays is always over looked.

i have a feeling that in this aspect frenchies are right
guru its not a rocket science to incorporate a missile with rafale , also they dont want to do it bcos they want to make more money by selling their missiles ,thts wht i dont like , they are getting more greedy , and our establishment should see tht for future also , so to me we have other option available why not use it

thing is they have the best 4.5 gen fighter and IAF needs it to counter PAF and its air defnce while some other jobs so they are right in selling what they want if IAF top genrals were so patriotic they would have never kicked LCA programm around like they did so they need to know how the buisness in real world works

French are NOT desperate at all

The Rafale has managed to get Two export orders

It can get more ; Rafale's long drought of export success is over

Integrating a new weapon takes time and Human effort

Dassault will have to pay its people for doing it

Nothing is free in this world

what makes you think other country'(s) manufactures wont do the same thing? The Americans in fairness made the most concessions which even then the overly argumentative, non-suave, non charismatic and non-slick indian negotiators who come dimes a dozen (no offense, just being very honest here - i've spoken to people about this MANY times) turned blind eye.

i sense this big MRCA deal is going to face a 7-10 year snag...many indian deals do

oky just tell me how many demand is their for such aircraft at tht price in various countries only few so to me many companies will be available who meet our demand its simple even if we have to pay a little more , also russian, sweden, england and usa are deaparate to sell their aircraft , many offer are their from these comapnies so .........................

Exactly, thats how things work they wont allow any other equipment other than their own. So we have to end up getting milked up. French can afford to lose so do we. India is a big market for arms , when the next tender comes up we can show them the middle finger. Bloody hell we are giving tons of money plus jobs and they wont give us what we want.
Money talks if they want they should have a deal on our terms if not take a walk.

Not the best 4.5 gen. It is one of the best, the reason we refused others were because of price or lack of trust. If France want to play this game then fine we can also play it. We have options to buy other aircraft but France has no other buyer.

Stop nagging and just take the deal.Either that or drop it altogether.Don't understand why you need astra on rafale, get meteor instead ffs.Keep astra for mki and lca.

That should not be something enforced on you by the seller. Tomorrow the seller may just quote an outrageous price. If something is manufactured in India, it must be the choice of Indians as to what they want. By this logic, if even a much better missile is available as opposed to what the OEM is supplying, we simply have no choice but to grin & bear it....?

If this is how the French are behaving even before a deal is signed, I shudder to think of the consequences in the long term......

guru there are many often also now french are doing the same tht russian used to do , taking longer time and asking for more money, if they would have asked for more money tht would have been a reasonable thing but telling they will not do it and telling us instead to take their missile thts not acceptable.

we are not the onli ones who are giving "tonns of money" and we are not the onli nation who buys stuff like that from them and with oil rich arab nations finalli making there intentions clear for rafales frenchies are right to demand what they want to give in return nothing wrtong in it ITS greed of IAF top genrals aswell cause they are the ones who were main cause of this delay

no need to be uber patriotic wqe should have some degree of rationalism about how buisness is done specially when the deal is going sour deu to owr own greed and lethargy :coffee:

Russia especially no doubt.....despite india falling into the US camp. The same camp which actually supported your bid to UNSC (though that will likely not happen anymore)
